[player_tooltip player_id='2422720' first='Jordan' last='Taylor'] (Shelbyville Central) committed to Volunteer State.

[player_tooltip player_id='2401960' first='Matthew' last='Barton'] (Centennial) committed to Trevecca Nazarene University Head Coach Nate Moran. Coach Moran played high school at Battle Ground Academy not all that long ago and ascended to his first DII leadership spot when Kevin Carroll took the Lipscomb University position in April of 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='2955801' first='Mason' last='Williams'] verbally committed to Kentucky Friday. It is very likely most readers have never seen Mason play and perhaps none even know his name. Mason played out his senior season for Tennessee Collegiate Academy (TCA). He hails from Mississippi originally and his father is former NBA guard Mo Williams. Over the course of his 13-year NBA career Mo Williams scored over 10,000 points and served up just under 4,000 assists all while shooting a sparkling 87.1% from the free throw line. Former Mr. Basketball in Mississippi Mo Williams currently coaches Jackson State University since March of 2022.

District MVP [player_tooltip player_id='2477739' first='DJ' last='Wilbur'] (Red Bank) picked Tennessee Wesleyan University. Wilbur is a former PrepHoopsTN Combine All-Star.

Lipscomb University Head Coach Kevin Carroll offered [player_tooltip player_id='1946924' first='Chris' last='Johnson'] (Nolensville) a preferred walk-on spot. He initially verbally committed to Columbus State Community College, but decommitted within a couple of weeks.

King University offered [player_tooltip player_id='2417871' first='Cole' last='Eads'] (Clay County). Eads really likes Campbellsville University (NAIA) and Lindsey Wilson (NAIA). Lincoln Memorial University is in play, but not an offer just yet. Both Eads and LMU are looking to line up a workout essentially a tryout to impress and earn an offer. If that gets scheduled, then you will hopefully first hear of it @PrepHoopsTN first. Cole shared exclusively with us that he intends to become a Physical Therapist, which requires a postgraduate degree beyond the undergrad degree. Lincoln Memorial actually offers a postgrad degree in that field.

[player_tooltip player_id='2118261' first='Braylin' last='Davis'] (University School of Nashville) intends to take an official visit to Miles College Monday March 30th. Davis' averaged over 25 points per game in his tremendous senior season. Davis plays with creativity and skill. USN leaned heavily upon him in 2025-2026 and he absolutely delivered. Davis is eager to get to Morehouse College for a work-out in the coming weeks. They are not currently an offer on the table.

Southern Wesleyan University offered [player_tooltip player_id='2869668' first='Cole' last='Winters'] (Beech).

Mr. Basketball [player_tooltip player_id='1659513' first='Christopher' last='Washington Jr.'] (Providence Christian Academy) graciously shared just a quick call just after noon today. Washington Jr. is both a two-time State Champion and was named State Tournament MVP (2026) earlier this month.

Do you have any visits in the next two weeks?
I am working on that. [None on the books].

Are you hearing from any schools that have not offered?
Kansas State reached out. I don't think they offered yet. Kentucky reached out.

Nice. Is that the new staff at Kansas State? Casey Alexander from Belmont.
Yes sir.

Are you still considering Auburn?
"Like I said I am still open," said [player_tooltip player_id='1659513' first='Christopher' last='Washington Jr.'] "My recruitment is open to everybody."

Now it is very important to note that this is merely an opening of a recruitment, not an offer and not at all a commitment, but Kentucky offering a player from our state is very rare.

Off the top of my head, the last to get a prolonged Kentucky recruitment was former #1 overall NBA Draft pick James Wiseman (2 vacated state titles). Keon Johnson earned an offer. They offered Brandon Huntley-Hatfield who picked Tennessee out of I.M.G. Academy by way of Clarksville Academy then transferred to Louisville and just this week left North Carolina State University amid a coaching change.

Back when the Wildcats stood on top of the college basketball world, they signed Ron Mercer (Goodpasture), Tony Delk (Haywood HS). Alex Poythress advanced to a Final Four in his junior year of 2014-2015 and he hails from Clarksville, Tennessee.

To my knowledge Chris took just a single official visit in the last year, and it was to Alabama in September of 2025 right before he committed to them. Washington Jr. decommitted from the Tide November 17th instead of signing during the early signing period (November 12-November 19).

Joe Tipton of On3.com previously reported that Washington Jr. backed out of his scheduled Tennessee official visit the final days of January though that offer remains on the table for Washington Jt.
