Chatt Prep and Westview Forwards Secure QF Victories Wednesday

In the quartet of Class 2A quarterfinal games Wednesday these forwards impacted outcomes.

Senior forward Bulis landed awkwardly late in the first quarter and appeared temporarily hobbled. He played on though limped noticeably for the first few seconds. Bulis dominated the offensive boards and finished with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Bulis provided a necessary offensive putback early in the second quarter to curtail PHS's 15-2 run and starting Prep's own run. Bulis knows what he is and what he isn't. He does not take shots outside of 8' and consistently attacks the glass on both ends. While fellow forward Derrick Roberson Derrick Roberson 6'6" | SF Chattanooga Prep | 2026 State TN earns all of the top honors Bulis gets Prep extra possessions and ends opponent possessions quickly.

In a blowout win over Peabody, Derrick Roberson Derrick Roberson 6'6" | SF Chattanooga Prep | 2026 State TN finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Nobody entered the 2A Tournament with a greater reputation than Derrick Roberson Derrick Roberson 6'6" | SF Chattanooga Prep | 2026 State TN . He won 2A Mr. Basketball the last two seasons, two State Championships, and the last two State Tournament MVP's.

Roberson is comfortably over 2,000 career points and nearing a third state title.

Chattanooga Prep's forwards played really poorly in defensive transition, enabling the Golden Tide's 15-2 run. It needs mention that Roberson missed eight of his ten free throws in the win.

Undersized (height) but overstrong forward Asa Barnes Asa Barnes 6'2" | SF Westview | 2027 TN is an important piece for Westview. Arden Smith Arden Smith 6'7" | PF Westview | 2026 State TN likes to face up and hits perimeter shots from time to time. Somebody needs to rebound those. That duty falls to dual-sport athlete Asa Barnes Asa Barnes 6'2" | SF Westview | 2027 TN . Asa will play college football.

Entered the game averaging about seven points per game. Westview lacked height, but not strength. Craig was decent not perfect guarding the area under GP's basket defensively. A little heavy on his feet. Powerful. Down 13-7, GP needed something anything to go through the cylinder. Huskey secure an offensive rebound and quickly made a difficult layup to help the Highlanders gain a bit of confidence. He also scored on the ensuring possession.

Rangy combo forward. Arden is the one basketball-only star for Westview's current team. He hit a three-pointer midway through the first quarter helping WHS staking their claim to the game, 9-5. A senior, Smith is capable of playing college basketball at the NAIA-level.

Max Hammonds Max Hammonds 6'1" | SG/SF Peabody | 2029 TN ran the floor well and punished Chatt Prep for their uneven defensive transition. Hammonds finished off a counterattack to give the Golden Tide their 19th point late in the first half. Hammonds hit a wing three-pointer later in the same quarter. Those were his only points (5) and he played just four minutes total.

Still growing into his body, Noah Woolfork Noah Woolfork 6'3" | SF/PG Peabody | 2028 TN is a dynamic attacker at the 2A level. He caused problems for an ordinarily stout Chattanooga Prep squad largely through high effort and springiness. For the game Woolfork scored 11 points on 3-11 shooting. Five offensive rebounds.
