2027 Rankings Update: Frontcourt Stock Risers

With the release of our updated <a href="https://prephoops.com/georgia/rankings/2027-rankings/" id="https://prephoops.com/georgia/rankings/2027-rankings/">2027 Top 225 Player Rankings</a>, we highlight a group of forwards and centers poised to see their recruitment take a significant step forward this offseason. These frontcourt prospects bring a combination of size, production, and long-term upside that should attract increased attention from college programs in the months ahead.    McVey took a notable step forward this season, earning First Team All-Region honors while continuing to trend upward as a prospect. The junior combines good strength with improving mobility and consistent production. He shows touch around the paint, can finish through contact, and has the ability to step out and knock down open perimeter jump shots. With his development trajectory pointing up, McVey is a name college coaches should be tracking closely this offseason.     An intriguing long-term prospect out of Woodward Academy, Phillips brings a blend of size, length, and upside to the frontcourt. He is effective around the rim, showing the ability to secure catches and finish plays efficiently in traffic. There are also flashes of perimeter development, as he's comfortable stepping out and making open jump shots. Phillips competes on both ends and continues to progress physically, and as his strength and overall skill set evolve, he has the tools to take another step forward as a prospect.     Aneke is a mobile, athletic forward with length and an active presence on both ends of the floor. He plays with a high motor, runs the floor well, and is an above-the-rim finisher in transition and around the basket. Defensively, he offers versatility, using his length and timing to contest and alter shots in the lane. An All-Region selection this season for the Titans, Aneke has plenty of upside as a prospect.     The Fannin County big man put together a strong season, earning First Team All-Region honors while continuing to elevate his stock. He has good strength, rebounds his area effectively, and shows soft touch around the paint. He's also capable of putting it on the floor in straight lines from the perimeter and is a capable passer which adds to his offensive versatility. With a high basketball IQ and steady production, he looks poised for a good offseason with Georgia Legacy.     Coming off a state championship run with Cross Creek, Luke is a frontcourt prospect trending in the right direction that college coaches should monitor closely this offseason. A Second Team All-Region selection, the junior combines good size with mobility and reliable hands. He moves well in the paint, finishes with touch, and shows the ability to score on the block with control.
