Lincoln Prep is back on top, and the PrepHoops Team has been in the gym all season covering some of the top players in the state. The old adage, it's not how you start, but how you finish fits perfectly for the Lincoln Prep Panthers. After a tough summer league and a couple of early bumps in the road, the panthers closed the season with 28-1 record. Senior leader [player_tooltip player_id='1543654' first='Joseph' last='Spann'] locked in on defense, but also provided big buckets in the most crucial points of the season while Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2883422' first='Jabari' last='Levingston'] made a grand introduction to the sophomore class.

More than three decades after its last title, and years removed from its days as Grambling Lab, the Panthers reclaimed the Class 1A crown in dominant fashion, rolling past rival Southern Lab 69-42 in the Division IV Select state final. The win marks Lincoln Prep's first championship in 34 years and the program's eighth overall.

Sophomore standout [player_tooltip player_id='2883422' first='Jabari' last='Levingston'] was the engine all season long, and he saved his best for the biggest stage. The 6-foot-2 guard poured in a game-high 28 points in the title game, capping off a stellar sophomore campaign. Levingston averaged 21.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 3.0 steals per game, earning Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 1A Outstanding Player honors.

On the sidelines, head coach Antonio Hudson completed a full-circle moment. A former Grambling Lab player who helped the program to a state runner-up finish in 2000, Hudson guided Lincoln Prep to a 30-3 record, a No. 1 seed, and ultimately the state title in his 12th season at the helm. For his efforts, he was named Class 1A Coach of the Year.

Senior guard Trey Spann played a major role in the Panthers' championship run, earning All-State honors for the second straight year. Spann averaged 18.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.5 steals per game, providing leadership and consistency on both ends of the floor.
