The senior captain of Ascension Christian put together a historic week, delivering two dominant double-doubles while surpassing 2,000 career points to become the school’s all-time leading scorer. He dropped 25 points with 11 rebounds, 4 steals, and 4 assists against St. John High School, then followed it up Thursday night with a commanding 35-point, 10-rebound performance against Episcopal, adding 2 steals, 2 assists, and a block. With leadership and production at an all-time high, he continues to cement his legacy in unforgettable fashion.

Spansel is looking like his senior year is going to be a special one. He has taken the time and consistently built his game. It is known that he can score the ball, but his emphasis on getting to the rim and finishing through contact takes his game to another level. His strong build is going to easily make him a tougher player to guard this season. His All-Star Selection at The Phenom Camp, consistent recognition at PrepHoops events, and stellar performances at countless elite camps certainly pushes him into the stock riser category. His complete approach to the game and relentless motor will serve him well as his play could elevate Ascension Christian into a serious contender this season. Great off season by Spansel.

Dylan is an all-around guard who brings versatility and toughness to the floor. He can score from all three levels and isn’t afraid to attack the rim. Defensively, he takes pride in locking up opponents and making hustle plays. Dylan also crashes the boards well for a guard, showing great instincts and effort. His court vision and unselfishness allow him to create easy opportunities for his teammates. With a strong build and high basketball IQ, he’s capable impact the game in multiple ways. Dylan is the type of player every coach wants on the floor.

Dylan scored an impressive 41 Points (including 4 three pointers) against a district rival. He is a junior guard and a three-year varsity starter and a true leader on the team. Along with the 41 points Dylan had 2 assists, 4 rebounds and 1 steal and with that impressive performance he all surpassed 1000 varsity career points in 2 season and 6 games.

Spansel is a point guard who may be on the smaller side. However, he displayed the willingness to play hard and battle anyone he played against. Dylan may not be as fast as other guards but he showed he could handle pressure. Whether the pressure came in the full court or half court, he maintained his composure and his handle. Spansel can score as well as facilitate. He is one of the better true lead guards ans proved it at The Expo.
