West Valley Upper Classman Season Standouts : Point Guards

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As the 2025-2026 season comes to an end I like to highlight the great year that the young men in the west valley had.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With the west valley on the rise there are plenty of players i was able to choose from. The talent ranges from nationally ranked 5 stars all the way to completely under the radar talent. His ability to push the pace and control the game makes him essential to his team. He uses his elite wings to his advantage and will give it to them in transition and on cuts to the basket. His head is always up looking for teammates. Adrian has a really nice mid range pull up and is not afraid to go one on one every now and then when a weaker defender is on him. His has a real nice handle and rarely turns the ball over. Johnny was able to really control the offense for the coyotes. Johnny is a great communicator and connector on the court. He has a really nice jumper that can extend out beyond the 3. His has a really tight handle and great vision in the half court and on the break. Johnny got the most out of his teammates and always set them up for success. Carsyn has improved his ability to get his teammates going and truly run an offense. Carsyn was able to control majority of the games he played in and set the pace of the game. He can score efficiently and go on personal runs. He has legit NBA range and can quicky get hot from three. Carsyn has improved his defense and is often a matchup nightmare for smaller guards with his 6'3 frame. Adrian plays the game at a very fast pace and is always on go. He is a legit three level scorer and often gets his majority of his points from the midrange. Adrian put his vision on display this year with no look passes and overall high IQ playmaking. He is a very strong defender that can get low and guard multiple types of player. He has really good hands that often lead to steals. Donovan took on may roles for his team this year he would always set up teammates and control the offense. He was able to score when needed and rarely forced any shots. Donovan had the ability to get hot with his sweet midrange jumper and great finishing around the rim. Defensively he had good feet and hands looking to cut off defenders and even take a couple of charges. Anthony's ability as a playmaker shined this year. He was very balanced with his scoring and passing. Anthony knew when it was time for him to score and often scored in bunches from the three or at the rim. He would take advantage of smaller guards using his size and strong frame. Anthony would constantly set up teammates and get them the ball in spots they will be successful in. Anthony helped lead Independence to there first region title in years while also hitting 1000 career points.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
