West Valley Under Classman Season Standouts : Point Guards

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As the 2025-2026 season comes to an end I like to highlight the great year that the young men had in the west valley.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With the west valley on the rise there are plenty of players I was able to choose from. The talent ranges from nationally ranked 5 stars all the way to completely under the radar talent. Cj can do it all for his squad whether is getting a bucket, playmaking or locking down on defense. His ability to get down hill and finish above the rim is elite. He also has a real nice midrange game and floater. With his speed he draws defender really well and is able to kick to shooters. Defensively he can lock down and is not afraid of a challenge. With his wingspan and athleticism he is a tough matchup on this end of the floor. Jordan got it done for his squad with his elite three point shooting and finesse finishing on the inside. He also has a real nice floater and great vision that allows him to thread the needle in traffic. Jordan has a high IQ and makes great decisions with the ball and has the ability to run the the offense efficiently. Maurice draws tons of attention from defenses and is often game planned for. He is a plus athlete who can play above the rim and and get to the bucket at will. He has a real nice midrange pull up and can hit tough shots in the faces of defenders. Maurice has really improved on his three point jumper and shot 41% from deep. He has also improved his passing and was dropping dimes all year. Thiago was able to get great minutes next to one of the best guards in the state and didn't take it for granted. Thiago is very quick and shifty with a tight handle. He has the ability to break down defenders and get to his spots that make him successful. He is a great finesse finisher that can finish by the rim despite his size. He can be a knock down shooter for his team and showcased his ability to play off ball. Thiago has great vision and is always looking for teammates. Despite being a freshman he is a true floor general in a scoring guards game. Taylan has great vision on the break and in the half court. He gives his teammates the ball where they can be successful. He has a tight handle with a quick first step that allows him to get to the rim and finish strong. He is a plus athlete that can finish above the rim. Taylan is just an overall crafty guard that has some flash to his game and a great IQ. Elie has a quick first step and a real nice hesi that allows him to get to the middle for a nice floater. He has real nice range and can get hot from the three. He can slow it down and run the offense but is best in the open floor. He has good hands on defense and reads passing lanes for easy steals. Elie has solid vision and can play make for others.
