<p>PH NorCal was in attendance for 3 games, 1 on Friday, 2 on Saturday. Menlo Atherton at home against Carlmont, game 2 put us on the hill for a WCAL contest between Valley Christian and St. Ignatius College Prep. Game 3 we headed to the East Bay for a non-league matchup between Destiny Christian from Sacramento at Oakland Tech.</p>

<p>Game 1) After a sluggish start Menlo Atherton was able to get some separation to get the victory over Carlmont, 59-48. Menlo Atherton moves 9-0, first place in league play, 16-3 overall. Carlmont put up a game effort in the first half falls to 11-10, 3-6 in league play:</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='2921184' first='Luca' last='Auer']: He's good in a fast pace game, hustles up and down the court, for transition baskets, gets back on defense using foot speed, quick hands, and lateral movement, might get a steal. He plays mostly off ball using a first step along the baseline, and sides to get by defenders. He spent some time up top running the offense in half-court sets, showing patience, directing traffic, and moving the ball around the perimeter.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='2684096' first='Aiden' last='Atkins']: He's long, stronger than he looks, and playing with urgency since the last time we saw him. He was good around the basket on both ends, everything didn't fall for him offensively, nevertheless he went up strong around the basket, had good second effort getting offensive rebounds. He went out of his space for rebounds, went and got a few blocks. He had good effort defending away from the basket.</p>

<p>Game 2) St. Ignatius College Prep, sitting at currently #3 team in the NorCal rankings took on Valley Christian up on the hill in San Jose. A WCAL contest on Saturday afternoon. 1000 point scorer [player_tooltip player_id='1703071' first='Raymond' last='Whitley'] was out sick. St. Ignatius has experienced Seniors and a deep bench. St. Ignatius 17-2, 8-1, second place in WCAL gets the road win 65-47 over Valley Christian 10-9, 2-7</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='1703088' first='Steele' last='Labagh'] has been playing good basketball all season. He's knocking down 3-pointers in the flow of the offense at a good percentage, some with a hand in the face. He's a ball mover, a solid defender, has good strength at 6'3 to get rebounds. He can handle the ball, makes good decisions. The MIT commit was the games leading scorer, 22pts, 5-3's. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='2094259' first='Shawn' last='Boquiren']: He's an experienced play making guard, starting to find his rhythm in the latter parts of the season. Starting or coming off the bench Boquiren can effect the game. He's a good ball handling guard with excellent vision for passing, he can penetrate the paint. If left open he'll knock down 3's, use a dribble and a side step to free himself up for 3's. </p>

<p>Noah Kirsch Lopez : He's a rising prospect in the 2028 Class. A solid body, moves well, makes good use of his body. He handles and passes along the perimeter, can drive it, he sets solid screens before cutting. He's a triple threat at the high post, can post up on the block, and work along the baseline. He's a rebounder, has the body to defend in the paint.</p>

<p>Game 3) Oakland Tech took down one of the better teams from Sacramento, Destiny Christian (67-57) in a non-league contest between two teams looking to make late season runs. Oakland Tech 15-9, 4-1 defeated Destiny Christian 17-7, 8-0. Tech looking to build momentum heading into a league showdown Feb 4, against Oakland High who defeated them 8 days ago on their home court. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='2951974' first='Jordan' last='Price']: The Freshman started the season on the JV team. He adds length and depth along with a growing body, his skill set will continue to expand over time. He's still growing, can handle the ball away from the basket, used his dribble to attack the basket when the opportunity presents itself, he range to hit 3-pointers, he made one. He's a triple threat from the high post. He's got the size to post up at times, length to defend inside, he got rebounds.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='2879181' first='Kesyn' last='Haggins']: He's continues to raise his game as play making guard. With quality handles, a solid body for strong takes to the basket, handling contact, he puts it high off the glass over shot blockers. He sees the court, moves the ball around the perimeter. He can get by defenders for the mid-range and paint jumper. He knocked down 2 big 3's in the 4th qtr, and took a charge. 11pts</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='2629603' first='Djibi' last='Camara']: He's a rising 6'8 Soph starting to make his presence felt in and around the post, on both ends. He has work to do polishing things up, footwork, and more. He's a big target with long strides cutting across lane, and setting up on the low block, he wants the ball. When on balance, powering up off two feet makes him harder to deal with that close to the basket. He has paint presence defending, goes after blocks, could be a top rebounder over time. He had 10pts, 8rebs, 4blks.</p>
