The Regional Semis kicked off with a handful of games on Tuesday evening across the state. We took in a pair of 3A contests as Morton topped Limestone by a final of 73-51. Then it was a good one as Burlington Central won a tight contest on their home floor over Geneva 62-58. Here are the prospects that caught our attention in the two contests.

[player_tooltip player_id='2734458' first='Alex' last='McKie'] (Morton – 2026)

McKie has had an excellent career for Morton. The senior shooting guard is the leader of this squad. He did what he does best in this contest which is let it fly from deep off the catch. Poured in six shots off the catch with clean form and a quick release. Mixed in a transition layup along with some nice passing. Poured in 20 points in the win. Small colleges looking for a shooter this is a great option!

[player_tooltip player_id='3430180' first='Brendan' last='Petty'] (Morton – 2027)

Petty is a lengthy forward that has bounce to his game. Lanky four man got on the offensive glass, finished dump offs, and took his man off the bounce from the high-post with his long strides. Mixed in a mid-range jumper and did a nice job cleaning the defensive glass. Left late with an ankle injury. He had 14 points.

Jude Zeller (Morton – 2026)

Zeller is a senior lead guard who brings tenacity on the defensive end. Offensively he gets in the teeth of the defense for soft touch finishes, layups, and coast to coast conversions. Went for 12 points.

Lawrence Alexander (Limestone – 2028)

Strong showing from Alexander in the first half scoring 8 of his 10 points. Quick and shifty guard that gets in the paint off the bounce for floaters along with acrobatic and-1s. Also hit a three. Showed solid passing off the move. Good player to build around.

Kayvion Graham (Limestone – 2027)

Graham is a 6'4” wing that has a nice frame and solid athleticism. Athleticism shined through getting on the offensive glass, getting to the foul line, sweet runner, and hit a three. Solid all-around player had 13 points in the loss.

Ryan Carpenter (Burlington Central – 2027)

Carpenter is a 5'11” junior point guard that had a strong night. He is a slick ball handler and playmaker that can also score it. Spinning layups, runners, and got an and-1 on a sick double cross move. Also hit a three and had active hands defensively in a 17 point outing.

Bennek Braden (Burlington Central – 2027)

Braden is a 6'2” two guard that had a monster evening. Thick bodied wing that poured in mid-range jumpers along with a couple threes. Displayed his toughness scoring around the hoop and we liked him mixing it up defensively walling up on multiple drives for stops while scoring 19 points in the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='2536509' first='Declan' last='Wilson'] (Burlington Central - 2029)

Wilson was the best long term prospect we saw in either game. Long and lanky 6'6” freshman four man is super skilled. It was his passing that really made an impression with his ability to get others involved hitting guys on the move for scores. Touch on a turnaround jumper, finished out of the dunker spot, went coast to coast on one drive for a finger roll, and has a nice looking hook shot. Rebounded well in his area cleaning the glass all night while scoring 10 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2431475' first='David' last='Udoiwod'] (Geneva – 2027)

Udoiwod is a 2027 wing that had a big season for Geneva. The bouncy wing is active on the defensive end and showed his burst with the ball on the other side. Split the defense multiple times getting downhill. Scored quite a bit in transition on scores off his own defense where he got the steal and went the other way for an acrobatic score or getting fouled. Banged in three triples on the night as well notching 22 points.

Nathan Palmer (Geneva – 2026)

Palmer is a senior guard that made some plays throughout the loss. Got to the free throw line, mixed in an array of mid-range jumpers, and played with toughness. The small college prospect had 15 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2369872' first='Cody' last='Rader'] (Geneva – 2029)

Rader brought a spark to Geneva late in the game as the freshman ripped off 6 points including an and-1 along with a three ball. Going to be a fun lead guard with shooting upside to track this spring and summer!
