Top Playoff Prospects In NCHSAA 2A East

We are headed into round two of the NCHSAA playoffs, and we are going to take a look at some of the top prospects in each classification heading into these matchups. Here is a look at 2A and some of the prospects you should be following moving forward.    We've watched [player_tooltip player_id='2516817' first='Hayes' last='Lewis'] for the last couple of seasons so to no surprise that he's his team's leading scorer (19.8 ppg) for Franklin Academy and has his team sitting as the number 3 seed. Lewis plays with a grit and toughness that's contagious to the energy and effort that his Franklin Academy teammates play with, he's a catch and shoot threat out to well beyond the three-point line and doesn't mind mixing it up in the middle. Lewis has some D3 offers with a big showing in the playoffs I expect more colleges to come calling.       The number one overall in the Northwest Halifax is led by the man in the middle Davion Richardson. The two sport forward is a superb athlete who dominates around the rim, both offensively and defensively. He's a threat whenever he pulls down the offensive rebound to go back up with a strong finish above the rim and on the other end, he makes it difficult for opposing teams' bigs. Expect the senior forward to not go down without a fight and lead Northwest to a big playoff run.     Northwest also has another Richardson on the roster, Jaysen might be the most versatile freshman playing in the 2A classification. The lefty wing averages a double double and can do just about anything you need him to do on either side of the floor. He can step out shoot the three, he can handle the ball and defensively he can switch to guard one through five, making him one of the most important guys left playing in round two.        Bertie is sitting at the five seed in large part due to the play of the senior lefty guard Javion Leary. He's anathletic guard who can fill it up in bunches and doesn't mind finishing above the rim in transition. Being the primary ballhandler and leading scorer if Bertie is gonna make a deep run expect some big performances from their senior guard.     Like Leary listed above Darin Jones is a do it all guard for Voyager Academy and leads his team in both scoring and assists. The senior guard can fill it up quickly and gets his shot off with relative ease off the dribble and has shown the ability to play off the ball as well. Voyager is having one of their best seasons in the last ten years and Jones is one of the best PGs in the playoffs.       Camden County is looking to play Cinderella after advancing to the second round as the number 9 seed. Coach Harley has arguably the most unique prospect in the East with Ny'Aden Daniels the 6'3 forward. Daniels is a versatile scorer who can score from all three levels and is one of the leading rebounders in the classification as only a sophomore. He has 13 double doubles and has only scored in single digits while also averaging 3.4 stocks per game.
