We all know who fills up the box score each time out. The leading scorers, the names that jump off the stat sheet. But winning basketball is built on more than scoring. It's built on the guys who do the dirty work, set the tone, and keep the team steady when things get chaotic. The engines for their team. The pairs that impact winning in ways numbers can't explain. Here are the top glue guy duos in the 6A/5A/4A CO Springs Metro Metro Conference.

McAllister is a 6'2 wing at Liberty who we saw a few times this summer, and he was a bright spot in all of those situations due to his athleticism and ability to impact the game in various ways. Well, those things are still on display now as he's finishing off his senior year, and right now he's a core piece for a solid team with championship aspirations. He's putting up 9.7 points and 4.6 rebounds a game. He's using his length and athleticism, he's getting to the rim and finishing with dunks and being a force defensively as well. He's a prospect who has showcased his upside and is one of the top X-factors in the conference.

Hoskins is a high-flying big man with a great motor, and that forces mismatches and advantages for Liberty. He finishes well around the rim, runs the floor, and doesn't shy away from contact. He's 6'7, and that size has benefited him for Liberty for rebounding as well as rim running. He's a core piece for the Lancers as a glue guy. He's their most important player as I truly feel they go as he allows them, so they will need his best these next couple of weeks.

Doherty has been one of the surprise teams of the year as a switch flipped for them as they've gotten into conference play, and they look like they can make some noise in the playoffs. They are in 1st place in the conference, and a big reason for that is Javar. Javar checks off boxes for Doherty and has been a big reason for their turnaround. He's averaging 9.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists a game. He finds ways to impact the game in ways other than just scoring; he's the emotional leader on the floor and is a versatile defender who takes on the challenge. He's the glue guy for the team and is rising.

Odie is the team's ball handler and plays with poise and pace. He is under control and is the calm to the team. He handles pressure, he reads the floor, and attacks. He is also a vocal standout, and that progress has helped as the team's PG. Odie has some high highs, and finding that balance and consistency will put him in the upper echelon of guards. He is the team's catalyst who can alter the game, and we want to see that aggression stand out a bit more as we finish off the season.

Wilson is a 6'1 prospect who wears many hats for Rampart. He's an athletic and well-rounded player who scores in bunches, rebounds when called upon, and is a playmaker who thrives with the ball in his hands. This season, there was a bit of a shift for him as he stepped into that role of making plays for others, and it added to his game. He's averaging 11.1 points and 4 assists a game. He's also more engaged defensively, and that has been the difference for the team as thieve found their footing. His ability to impact the game as a two-way standout will continue to push them, and that makes him one of the top X-factors in the conference.

Bishop is another player who has cooked up another solid season. This year it has been a very balanced approach, but now it is about dominating as an inside presence. He's in his best stretch of the season as a scorer as well as a rebounder. He's averaging 11.5 points and 7.5 rebounds, has gotten a few double-doubles, and is playing the passing lanes. He's establishing himself as a back-to-the-basket guy who also faces up and attacks as well. He runs the floor, finishes with soft touch, and has filled it up. Another big year for him as a productive player, and they will need that to make a playoff push.
