All roads have led to the Sumter and the last two teams standing in SCISA Class 1A are Ragin Prep and Newberry Academy. Prep Hoops SC was at the Sumter County Civic Center on Saturday for this game and will be there to cover the other three classifications as well.
Game Recap:

It might have been an early 11:00 AM start, but there was no sluggishness from the defending champs. Ragin Prep burst out of the gates on a 15-0 run thanks to dominant early play from [player_tooltip player_id='2693904' first='Kavontay' last='Rose'] and a scoring boost from Kayshaun Rutherford. Caleb Wilbanks scored the first field goal of the game for Newberry Academy, which also cost Rose his second personal foul. Rutherford continued his excellent scoring day while Rose was on the bench, but the Rams built their lead because of excellent ball pressure from their guards, such as [player_tooltip player_id='1806930' first='Zymir' last='Robinson-Hill']. Newberry Academy never got into an offensive rhythm because of their struggles to create penetration and limit turnovers, so Ragin Prep continuously built their lead until the final buzzer. The now two-time defending state champs graduate three excellent seniors this season, but if the rest of their core returns, it wouldn't be a surprise to see them right back in the same position this time next year.
