The Case for the Knights

One of the top teams in western Iowa and a squad that has routinely competed at the state tournament, Unity Christian is once again loaded this season. Playing 20 games and posting a record of 18-2, the Knights' only losses have come to Siouxland Christian of South Dakota and the 3A reigning champs, MOC-Floyd Valley. Other than that, UC beat MOCFV earlier this season, has handled the likes of programs like Sioux Center, Western Christian and other competitive programs in their part of the state.

This season, 6-foot-1 senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2413578' first='Dylan' last='Bosma'] became the all-time leading scorer in Unity Christian history, averaging 17.9 points per game while also posting a team-leading 4.1 assists and 2.2 steals per contest. One of the better three-point shooters in that part of the state, Bosman can fill it up from deep, as he's made 74-of-176 triples this season (42%).

The No. 2 scorer for the Knights is 6-foot junior guard, [player_tooltip player_id='2407223' first='Keagen' last='Winterfeld'], who's putting up 13.9 points per contest while shooting 50% from the field and 38% from deep. With two guards that are shooting from range at that clip, Unity Christian will have an offense that's tough to stop, considering the spacing those Winterfield and Bosman provide.

Up next is the the big man for the Knights, [player_tooltip player_id='2419800' first='Tyce' last='Van Donge']. A 6-foot-4 forward, Van Donge puts up 13.1 points per game while shooting 51.9% from the field and a whopping 50% from three, despite being more of an inside presence on offense -- again, the spacing. He does the dirty work on the interior, too, grabbing a team-leading nine rebounds per game while also dishing out 3.5 assists per contest.

Helping out Van Donge, despite also being a member of the backcourt for Unity is senior [player_tooltip player_id='2413600' first='Austin' last='Wieringa'], who is the fourth double-digit scorer on this year's squad. Putting up 12.3 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.9 steals per contest, Wieringa is an all-around player that does some of the little things for his team, also posting an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.35.

Unity Christian looks like they'll be one of the final teams standing in 2A, given their firepower and ability to hit the three.
