Top 10 Duo Playing Well Heading into Playoffs

In the first half it was the [player_tooltip player_id='2105360' first='Lincoln' last='Williams'] show and the second belonged to [player_tooltip player_id='1552625' first='EJ' last='Hazelett']. Williams is the #1 ranked prospect in the senior class. The uncommitted wing dominated on both ends of the floor with his length, athleticism, and skill. Got loose in transition, crisp one dribble pull up jumpers, and strong slashes for and-1s. Also was a monster on the defensive end using his long arms and anticipation to block shots inside along with on the perimeter. Gets in passing lanes. Turns turnovers to scores on the other end. He had 18 points. Hazelett is an Indiana State commit and top 10 prospect in his own right. The lefty four man brought it in the second half showcasing his versatile inside/outside game. Plus shooter off the catch that can knock in a three and has a sweet step back from the baseline. Seals well in the post, has touch on short shots, and can play bully ball on straight line takes. Also rebounded well in traffic while scoring 24 points. If these two are both clicking the Kays are pretty much impossible to beat in 3A!

Other 3 Starters Bring Major Juice for Kankakee

What makes Kankakee so dangerous is that they have perfect glue pieces next to their stars. [player_tooltip player_id='1874852' first='Myair' last='Thompson'] is a lefty point guard who knows his role. Pressure on ball defender that causes havoc on that end. Quickness off the bounce scoring and getting to the charity stripe. Feeds his guys with passes that lead to buckets. He had 13 points. Rangy senior wing [player_tooltip player_id='1874752' first='Kenaz' last='Jackson Jr.'] fills in wherever he is needed with a feathery jumper and being a good defender notching 9 points. Cedric Terrell is a football prospect who has broken out as a senior hooper as a defender, passer, and gritty scorer as he dropped 6 points.

Higgs Leads Thornton with Big Night Shooting

We actually really wanted to evaluate some of the young prospects in this game for Thornton. DeAndre Higgs is a strong bodied sophomore wing that has the physical potential, but we have been waiting to see how the skill set evolves. Big night for him as he poured in an array of threes off the catch from the corner along with one from the top of the key. Mixed in a shot fake into a step through, and-1 on a post up, and was powerful on straight line takes. Rebounds very well from his wing spot. He had 20 points in the loss. Their point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2947687' first='Dakari' last='Nesbitt'] is among the best freshman guards in the class. Strong bodied combo guard that was the focus of the Kays defense as he scored just 5 points including a deep three. [player_tooltip player_id='2948461' first='Kobe' last='Stevenson'] is a junior to keep tabs on. Lefty scoring guard used his quickness getting on the offensive glass along with a step back three for 7 points.
