We recently updated the class of 2027 rankings just in time for the New Year! The rankings consist of nearly 200 players, including nearly 30 new names added to the rankings. Here's a look at part one of the top shooting guards and small forwards in the updated rankings!

25) [player_tooltip player_id='1588148' first='Chuma' last='Achufusi'] | 6'3” SG | Episcopal (#68 Overall)

I'll be the first to admit that Achufusi is probably a little low on this list and got lost, as he's been one of the catalyst for Episcopal's return after a few down years. The 6'3” off guard is a dynamic scorer who has in the gym range and is very consistent from deep, he can handle in transition and get to the rim where he's a good finisher, and he plays the right way making an impact with his playmaking and defensive toughness too.

24) [player_tooltip player_id='2815353' first='Aidan' last='O'Connor'] | 6'2” SG | Loudoun Valley (#66 Overall)

O'Connor was one of the breakout players in all of Loudoun County last year, and he's one of the most slept on scorers in the entire state. He's a smooth off guard who can shoot the cover off it with deep range, he's able to get to his spots and make tough shots in the midrange area, and when he gets it going he's an absolute nightmare to defend.

23) [player_tooltip player_id='2470582' first='Will' last='Mancine'] | 6'4” SG | Hargrave (#64 Overall)

Mancine has been a starter for Hargrave's varsity team since he was a freshman, helping catapult the program to multiple Final Four appearances in his time. The 6'4” wing is another player who could move up these rankings as he has great positional size and is a good athlete ass well, he can shoot it from deep and score it off the bounce in the midrange, and he understands the game in a way most his age don't.

22) [player_tooltip player_id='3035379' first='Trent' last='Smalling'] | 6'2” SG | Woodside (#62 Overall)

Smalling was a breakout player this past summer and has continued that with a strong start to the season for Woodside as one of their go-to scoring threats. The 6'2” wing is a talented shot maker off the catch and getting to pull-ups, he's very strong and physical when he gets downhill and is able to play through traffic, and he is a good rebounder particularly on the offensive end.

21) [player_tooltip player_id='2548299' first='Isaiah' last='Savage'] | 6'1” SG | Saint Michael (#57 Overall)

Savage is a player I expect to take a jump moving forward, as he is young for his grade and is wildly athletic well beyond his years with a budding skillset that keeps improving. He is absolutely dynamic in transition and is also a threat on set lob plays with his ability to get above the rim, he can put it on the deck and get in the paint where he's a good finisher, and he's shown a lot of improvement in his consistency from deep.

20) [player_tooltip player_id='2815333' first='Baur' last='Lloyd'] | 6'3” SG | Blue Ridge (#54 Overall)

Lloyd had a good sophomore season off the bench in his role for Blue Ridge last year, and after a good summer he has shown a lot of improvement is a very underrated shot maker for this group. He moves well off the ball and sets his feet quickly to make shots off the catch, he can attack closeouts or in isolation and is able to create space and make shots from multiple levels, and he has good instincts and plays with great energy on the defensive end too.

19) [player_tooltip player_id='2896969' first='Josiah' last='Law'] | 6'4” SG | Landstown (#53 Overall)

Law has been part of Landstown's continued run of dominance despite a completely new team last year, and he has a ton of upside moving forward with his positional size and athleticism. At 6'4” he has long arms and is a fluid athlete who thrives in transition whether he's running the floor or handling it, he can score it efficiently and doesn't need a lot of plays run for him, and he's a good rebounder for his position as well.

18) [player_tooltip player_id='2422471' first='Derrius' last='Jones'] | 6'6” SF | Blue Ridge (#46 Overall)

Jones is another high upside prospect who transferred to Blue Ridge and reclassified last season, and he continues to improve and show development and when it all clicks he could be a division one sleeper. The 6'6” wing is built to play basketball with great size and length along with a strong frame, he's a big time athlete who can play above the rim and makes plays on the defensive end, and he is a mismatch with his size and his budding guard skillset.

17) [player_tooltip player_id='2399485' first='Samuel' last='Seaborn'] | 6'4” SG | Western Albemarle (#45 Overall)

Seaborn has continued to develop well since his breakout season last year, and the 6'4” wing has emerged as one of the top scorers in the Charlottesville area on a Western team that has started the season off very strong. At 6'4” with long arms he is a deadly shooter from deep who doesn't need a lot of space to get his shot off, he attacks closeouts well and is good off the bounce to get to the rim, and he is highly efficient as a three level scorer who can take over games when he gets hot.

16) [player_tooltip player_id='2470581' first='Antonio' last='Mack'] | 6'2” SG | North Cross (#42 Overall)

Mack has been one of the best players in the Roanoke area since he was a freshman, and he was a big reason for North Cross making the VISAA D-II semifinals last year and to their great start this season as well. While he's only about 6'2” he has ridiculously long arms and is very athletic to be able to play above the rim, he is very strong and plays well through contact, he can make shots from all over the floor, and he has huge upside on the defensive end too.
