SAN DIEGO — The 35th annual Torrey Pines Holiday Classic drew 80 high school basketball teams from 11 different states. We were at Torrey Pines high school for Monday's action in the National Division and below are the best guards we saw.

Ashton Meeks | 2026 | DeMatha (MD)

Meeks is an explosive scoring point guard whose ability to knock down perimeter jumpers off the bounce and off the catch stood out as his most reliable offensive tool. The 6-foot unsigned senior is also a dynamic driver, slasher and scorer in transition with his combination of burst, physicality and the ability to absorb and finish through contact around the rim. Meeks scored a team-high 17 points in a semifinal loss to Notre Dame.

[player_tooltip player_id='2724586' first='Brady' last='Clugage'] | 2027 | Archbishop Mitty

Clugage is what I like to describe as a "basketball player" which is simply a prospect who knows how to play and impacts the game in a variety of ways. The 6-foot-4 junior has elite perimeter shooting ability but is also a high IQ decision-maker and reliable ball handler who can create for himself and others off the dribble. Clugage is a high energy player who isn't afraid to mix it up on the offensive and defensive glass. He finished with 16 points in a loss to North Oconee.

[player_tooltip player_id='2131810' first='Caleb' last='Ogbu'] | 2026 | Notre Dame

Ogbu's huge semifinal performance was the key factor in the Knights advancing to - and eventually winning - the National Division championship game. The 6-foot-1 shooting guard dude what he does best in the win over DeMatha and that's knock down open catch-and-shoot threes. Ogbu knocked down five triples and finished with 17 points in the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956616' first='Jaden' last='Bailes'] | 2026 | JSerra

The San Diego-native was back in his hometown and playing against a familiar foe in Mission Bay. The 6-foot-2 shooting guard was seeing a defense in front of him that was loaded up to stop him and Bailes played a poised all-around floor game and took what the defense gave him. The Seattle University-signee scored 14 points in the three quarters he played and didn't force many shots through the multiple defenders he saw.

[player_tooltip player_id='2046364' first='Justin' last='Wise'] | 2027 | North Oconee (GA)

Wise put on the most impressive individual scoring performance of the day as he dropped 37 points, including eight three-pointers, in a win over Archbishop Mitty. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard is a tough shot taker and tough shot maker whose jump shots were deep, contested, off the bounce, and of the step back variety and he managed to make some of the most difficult jumpers we've seen.

[player_tooltip player_id='2646501' first='NaVorro' last='Bowman'], Jr. | 2027 | Notre Dame

Bowman continues to show that he should be considered among the top point guards in the country. Not only is Bowman explosive and shifty as a ball-handler, scorer and creator but he's also plays a physical brand of basketball that allows him to bully smaller guards and power his way to the rim and score through contact from rim protectors. The 6-foot-3 junior has a mix of confidence, toughness and savvy that will translate well to the next level. Bowman had 20 points in the semifinal win over DeMatha.

[player_tooltip player_id='2435361' first='Tavid' last='Johnson'] | 2027 | Francis Parker

Johnson finished with a smooth 37 points in a loss to St. Pius with a majority of those baskets coming via his patented mid-range jumper. The 6-foot-3 combo guard used his smooth pace and changes of speed and direction to hunt his mid-range spots and rise up for his leaning jumper that is really tough to contest. The University of New Mexico-commit is also very savvy when drawing fouls and getting to the free throw line.

[player_tooltip player_id='2131808' first='Tevaris' last='Green'] | 2026 | Torrey Pines

Green is one of San Diego's best players and next-level prospects and his inside-out scoring ability was on full display in a win over regional rival St. Augustine. The 6-foot-3 off-guard used his strong frame and fundamental footwork to score on high percentage looks in the paint but he can also step out and knock down catch-and-shoot threes and off-bounce mid-range jumpers. Green finished with 19 points.
