Despite being out of the country, I had no problem covering this exciting CCL battle between brother Rice and St. Laurence on Wednesday. It was a rematch from the Hinsdale Central Championship a couple weeks ago. Here's some of my favorite performances from the game.

Aidan Henderson

5'11" Brother Rice guard showcased tons of explosion attacking the rim. Opened the game with a tight left-handed layup. Converted an and-one shortly afterward. Stayed explosive and efficient later in the game. Drew several fouls and knocked down almost all his free throws. Gritty defense on the other end, too. Younger Brother of 2023 G Ahmad Henderson.

St Laurence guard took advantage of his physicality to find his way inside. An underrated aspect of his game is the strides he can make to the rim scoring off the dribble. Fills holes in transition to find more scoring chances as the game went on. Even finding a few assists as a playmaker in this game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125677' first='Reggie' last='Stevens']

6'3" St. Laurence guard. Catch-and-shoot abilities were present early on with a pair of threes in the first half. Showed excellent ball-handling abilities as a pass-first point guard, too. Especially in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id='2823126' first='Joseph' last='Niego']

Brother Rice sharpshooter showed range throughout this contest. His ability to get open on the perimeter should not go unnoticed. Scoring spot-up was his preferred way to find the hoop. Added a pull-up two-pointer later in the game. Followed that up with a turnaround fadeaway. Rebounding was super efficient, too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2455377' first='Uriah' last='Davis']

The glue guy for Brother Rice that put all the pieces together. Especially as a passer as he racked up the assists throughout his game. Made passes to cutting players, in transition, and off the pick-and-roll. Chased after every loose ball and rebound. 2027 guard small schools should monitor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2440187' first='Adam' last='McBrearty']

He had a monster 2nd half on the inside for Brother Rice. Scoring 11 points in the third quarter with buckets coming off put-backs and post-ups in the paint. Had a run where he blocked b2b shots in one possession and it could have been three blocks there but wasn't due to a foul (I didn't agree with).
