Much like the New Mexico Highlands football program, NMHU head basketball coach Zach Settembre has focused much of his recruiting energy on prospects from the Land of Enchantment. In the last couple of weeks, NMHU had offered three New Mexico prospects:

[player_tooltip player_id='2085694' first='Drew' last='Bramlett'], La Cueva: The 6-foot-3 Bramlett is one of the top juniors in the Albuquerque Metro Region. He's a major reason the Bears (15-5) are undefeated and have sole possession of first place in District 5A-2 following last night's last-second clutch win at Santa Fe. Reliable 3-point shooter. In a recent game against Cleveland, he scored 17 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out 6 assists. Also has a 4.0 GPA, so he's getting the job done in the classroom as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2827503' first='Fernando' last='Corona'], Mayfield: The 6-foot-1 Corona has helped the Trojans get off to an encouraging 12-7 start as a point guard and shooting guard. Tuesday night's win over Alamogordo showcased Corona's impressive all-around skills. He scored 13 points, drained three 3-pointers, grabbed 7 rebounds and handed out 3 assists. Through 19 games for the Trojans, Corona is averaging 14.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game. Named Mayfield's Male Athlete of the Year for 2024-25. Senior.

[player_tooltip player_id='2217079' first='Charlie' last='Wills'], Eldorado: Perhaps one of the most underrated players in the Albuquerque Metro Region. He is Eldorado's undisputed leader as a junior. In recent games against Manzano and La Cueva, he scored 20 points with four assists in each contest with a combined seven 3-pointers. Excellent long-distance shooter, efficient passer and hard-nosed defender. At a recent three-day tournament hosted by Bernalillo, Wills averaged 20.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists in Eldorado's three games.
