No. 22 Keokuk (10-2) at No. 41 Oskaloosa (8-3), Mon. Jan. 19 at 7:30

The third-leading scorer in the state and the top scorer in Class 3A, [player_tooltip player_id='1978100' first='Jaxon' last='Clark'] and Keokuk will travel to Oskaloosa for a Monday night test at Oskaloosa. Clark, who was inititally set to transfer to Montverde Academy for his senior year of high school ball, opted to return home and play for the Chiefs, and is averaging an even 30 points per game (PPG) to go with just under 17 rebounds per game. One of the top players in the state, the 6-foot-10 big man holds offers from mid-majors Lehigh and Illinois State. [player_tooltip player_id='3255124' first='Chayce' last='Smith'] and Jalon Clark each add just over 11 points per contest.

With their lone losses coming early in the season at Pella and to Palmyra High School in a Missouri tournament, Keokuk looks like they have a shot to compete with some of the top teams in 3A.

Meanwhile, Oskaloosa will look to defend its home court and get back to its winning ways after a 66-52 to Norwalk last Friday. With their only losses coming to 4A opponents this season, the Indians are another formidable sqaud in 3A. Staying undefeated against their native class so far, Oskalooa defeated Pella earlier this season, 81-79.

A pair of juniors lead the way on the stat sheet for the Indians, as [player_tooltip player_id='2757890' first='Tommy' last='North'] puts up 16.8 PPG and [player_tooltip player_id='3343990' first='Tyler' last='Edgar'] adds 10.2 PPG. The question for Oskie will be whether or not they'll have the size and depth to matchup with [player_tooltip player_id='1978100' first='Jaxon' last='Clark'], as their tallest player, [player_tooltip player_id='3258705' first='Ethan' last='Stek'] stands at just 6-foot-6. He averages 8.7 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, and he'll need one of his best games of the year to match up with the future D1 center.

No. 29 St. Edmond (10-1) at No. 44 Bishop Garrigan (12-1), Mon. Jan. 19 at 7:30

Back and rolling after their lone loss of the season coming at the hands of a top three 3A team in Clear Lake, St. Edmond remains a top five team in 1A. They'll face the Power Score No. 9 team in 1A on Monday, Bishop Garrigan, whose lone loss came at the hands of the top Power Score squad in 2A, Western Christian. Two contenders to reach Des Moines, this matchup looks to be one of the best among 1A teams in the state so far this season.

The Gaels oft-discussed [player_tooltip player_id='1907683' first='Hunter' last='Horn'], a top three scorer in 1A at 26.1 PPG, is one of the top players in the state. Averaging 9.3 rebounds per game as well, the 6-foot-5 senior is averaging a near double-double for St. Edmond. Second, third and fourth in scoring are fellow Gael seniors, as [player_tooltip player_id='2517050' first='Carson' last='Bargfrede'] (13.4 PPG), [player_tooltip player_id='2887801' first='Jakob' last='Koopman'] (10.2 PPG) and Grant Galles (8.6 PPG), combine for 32.2 points per contest. Koopman adds 8.7 rebounds and 2.9 steals per contest.

Meanwhile, for the Golden Bears, three separate scorers average more than 13 PPG. Junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2243086' first='Michael' last='Joyce'] leads the way for Garrigan, putting up 16.8 PPG. Starting big man [player_tooltip player_id='2731752' first='Amaury' last='Thomas'] is second in scoring at 15.9 points per contest, adding a team-leading 12.2 rebounds per game to average a double-double. Adding his fair share of non-scoring flare, [player_tooltip player_id='1781875' first='Carter' last='Schwab'] averages 5.9 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game to go with 13 points per contest.

No. 45 Roland-Story (8-2) at No. 36 Nevada (10-2), Tues. Jan. 20 at 7:30

Both coming off losses, Roland-Story and Nevada will interlock for a 2A vs. 3A rematch that could help either squad propel up the Power Score rankings. Seeing each other once again after Nevada won the last matchup by a final score of 60-35, RS has won seven of eight games since.

Dual-sport star, [player_tooltip player_id='2754727' first='Luke' last='Thoreson'] is the leading scorer for the Norsemen, averaging 15 points, seven rebounds and two steals per game after posting an All-State caliber season on the gridiron as a receiver. A 6-foot-3 junior, Thoreson is the engine that makes things go for the Norsemen, but he has a little help, too. Fellow junior [player_tooltip player_id='2906518' first='Eli' last='Van Hove'] averages 13.3 points and 8.4 rebounds per contest. Thoreson will need a better game this time around after shooting just 4-of-17 and finishing with nine points against the Cubs the first time. Van Hove shot just six times, finishing 3-of-6 from the field for eight points.

Another dual sport star, [player_tooltip player_id='1765535' first='John' last='Nelson'] leads the way for Nevada on the court, similar to what he did on the gridiron as an All-State tight end. The 6-foot-6 forward averages 16.8 points, 8 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game for the Cubs. Behind him is 6-foot-3 freshman and younger brother, George Nelson, who is averaging 10.8 points and 2.1 steals per contest. Nelson's quarterback on the football field for the 3A state champions, Drake Hinson is Mr. Do It All on the court, averaging 9.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game.
