Friday night felt like winter basketball. The fans showed up, rivalries heated up the gymnasiums and district battles delivered.

1/16/26: Not really a factor offensively in the first half. The Bears needed more from him and from the whole team as they trailed by 17 at the break. The second half reveled more urgency from Jeremiah as he scored the first bucket coming out of the locker room. Brownlow displayed tremendous grit and fight. There is clearly a football player inside that brain. Brownlow buried a beautiful mid-range jumper early in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, the game was out of hand at that point.

1/16/26: Rebounded consistently. [player_tooltip player_id='2693642' first='Andrew' last='Walker'] is a known commodity at this point. He was a key player on Bradley Central's run to the State Tournament last March and this helps the younger players know to watch him. Watch what he does that impacts winning. Walker rose above taller players to collect a rebound late in the first quarter and he caught it with two hands high. Low ego. High character.

1/16/26: Winner. Ashton clearly matured to the part of his basketball career where he does not need to score baskets to feel good about himself. Most players never get there. Winning basketball often requires this kind of maturity. There is a reason Walker Valley is ranked #6 in our rankings and a State Tournament Contender.
1/16/26: Jet-quick first step. Bradley Central is a team with quick guards and they stood no chance against Zach. Davis routinely dashed into the lane, earning free throws multiple times. Constantly at the free throw line. Remember Zach is merely a second-semester junior. He was the fastest player in the game and possibly the strongest physically. Davis will be one of the state's Top 50 players for the foreseeable future.

He has big ole hands. That makes a big difference for him. If he stays on track to where he is now, for us he will be a 2,000-point scorer. - Head Coach Will Campbell

1/16/26: Speedy. Small. Glenn is an athletic guard, but this game showed that he will be challenged to score in the lane against bigs. Lefty. More combo guard than anything. Needs to be tougher in the trenches when rebounds are in play. Glenn projects as a NAIA point guard. Needs some seasoning. The first step is so good that you have to honor the drive. Too bad his outside shot is not a real threat just yet. That must develop in the next 18 months.

1/16/26: [player_tooltip player_id='2612100' first='Jeromy' last='Davis Jr']. played hoops all over the country the last couple of years. You might remember him from his Brentwood Academy days way back when. Well, he is back. Facing Lipscomb Academy, he just looked lost. The team does not know how to use him, and he does not know how to fit into the team's offense. Davis Jr. is a talent, no doubt. It was simply not in evidence Friday night.

1/16/26: Wonderful touch around the rim. Nash allows Lipscomb Academy to play 5-out. He can shoot it just like the guards. Low maintenance. Stark improved his agility quite a bit in the last year. Can play college at the NAIA level. Stark is the modern forward, a faceup "4". Sincerely, he kind of moves and shoots like Larry Bird...just not at that elite level.
