Bowie set the early tone, playing with pace and confidence while getting production across the lineup. Senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='2465599' first='Derrick' last='Osobase'] led the charge, scoring at all three levels and knocking down four three-pointers in the first half. Fellow senior Luke Ashby impacted the game with strong rebounding, rim runs, and physical defense.

The Bulldogs also received timely contributions from junior guard Josh Baskin, sophomore shooter [player_tooltip player_id='2711970' first='Rollie' last='Berglund'], and junior Desmond Friend, helping Bowie control the tempo and build a four-point halftime lead.

Westlake had to grind early, as Bowie's defense forced tough looks. Ogden kept the Chaps within striking distance by scoring through contact, hitting timely threes, and consistently getting to the free-throw line. Senior Blake Cannati provided perimeter shooting, while junior Mack Martin attacked the glass and the rim. Junior guard Pow Frickenschmidt helped organize the offense and applied ball pressure defensively.

Westlake elevated its defensive intensity in the third quarter, holding Bowie to minimal scoring behind the collective pressure of Alex Allen, Martin, Frickenschmidt, and Ogden. On the other end, Ogden took full control, showcasing his complete offensive package—scoring off the dribble, on the catch, in the paint, and above the rim while relentlessly drawing fouls.

Baskin hit tough shots to keep Bowie competitive, and Osobase added timely buckets, but Westlake had seized momentum. The Chaps closed the third quarter on a run to take a seven-point lead.

From there, Ogden dictated the finish rebounding, facilitating, and delivering timely baskets to close out the win. The two programs will meet again on Bowie's home floor later this month, setting the stage for another must-watch district battle.
