January is almost over, meaning the high school season is picking up in the Garden State. North Jersey 1 Group 4 has the potential to have a big state tournament with guards capable of putting up big performances during the postseason. Here are the guards to track from North Jersey 1 Group 4.

[player_tooltip player_id='2858268' first='Sean' last='Perrotta'], 6'1 SG Bloomfield 2027

AJ Cruz leads the Tigers in scoring, but Perrotta has done a little bit of everything for the Tigers so far this season. The 6'1 guard has a clean release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Perrotta can also get into the paint off the bounce and can find his open teammates in the half court. He is a strong rebounder and slides his feet on the defensive end. Perrotta has six double-doubles this season and should have more games like that over the next couple of weeks.

Dominick Bustamante, G Ridgewood 2027

Bustamante has stepped up for the Maroons this season as he tops the team in scoring. He has a nice handle, which he uses to get into the lane and finishes well around the rim. Bustamante is more than just a slasher as he has a good release on his jumper and sets his feet before he shoots. He works hard for rebounds and slides his feet on the defensive end. Bustamante is a gritty guard prospect who should make plays at both ends of the floor during the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1628300' first='Fernando' last='Badillo'], 6'3 SG Union City 2026

Badillo can play either spot on the perimeter, making him an intriguing prospect to watch. The 6'3 wing has a smooth shooting stroke as he wastes little motion and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Badillo is more than just a shooter as he can also put the ball on the floor and moves well without the ball in his hands. He is a strong rebounder and uses his length to make an impact on the defensive end. Badillo's ability to impact the game on the class and from behind the arc makes him a prospect to track throughout the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2829505' first='Sage' last='Kornreich'], CG Livingston 2027

Kornreich has paced the Lancers this season as he is averaging over 14 points per game. He uses his handle to get into the paint off the bounce and can also score in the mid-range. Kornreich moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open jumpers and layups in the half court. He is an underrated defender and can play either on or off the ball. Kornreich has the potential to put up points in bunches, which should help his stock throughout the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2344534' first='James' last='Roberts'], 6'2 CG/PG East Orange 2027

Roberts has been putting up big numbers all season long for the Jaguars and should continue to do so in February. The 6'2 guard attacks the basket with a purpose as he finishes strong around the rim and can finish through contact. Roberts can also score in the mid-range and makes opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc. He is a tough rebounder and works hard on the defensive end. Roberts has five 20-point games so far this season and should have more games like that over the next couple of months for an East Orange team that is looking to return to the sectional title.

Other Prospects to Track:

[player_tooltip player_id='1775140' first='Jamiko' last='Smith'], 5'10 PG Hackensack 2026

Mason Determan, 6'4 SG Montclair 2026

[player_tooltip player_id='2788989' first='Christian' last='Rodriguez'], 6'1 SG Mount Olive 2028

Yulian Torrez, 6'0 CG Paterson Eastside 2026

Lenix Rodriguez, G Memorial 2026
