MLK Showcase – Session 1 Standout Wings

He finished with 20 points and four made threes, showing his ability to score from the perimeter while still being one of the most explosive athletes on the floor. The highlight of the night was a dunk from outside the key that reminded everyone just how special of an athlete he is.   What is an unappreciated part of his game is his touch from the outside. Defenses can't just play him to drive—he'll make you pay from deep if you give him space. He finished with a double-double, posting 13 points and 10 rebounds, while impacting the game in multiple ways. Phillips is a versatile wing who can do a little bit of everything.   He's especially effective pushing the ball off the rebound, making the right reads in transition and turning those opportunities into easy layups for his teammates. Phillips has a tremendous first step that can beat elite defenders. He had it going early scoring nine of his 13 points in the first half. He did settle for a few perimeter looks in the second half, but that's easier said than done when facing O'Dowd's size in the paint. They had a big waiting for him once he passed the intial defender.    Already possessing D1-level size and athleticism as a freshman, Phillips' upside is obvious and his development will be worth tracking closely. He finished with 12 points, letting the game come to him and capitalizing on opportunities as they presented themselves. The ball has a way of finding Galloway, and he knows exactly what to do with it.   With his size and athleticism, he's effective attacking the rim as a slasher, putting pressure on the defense when lanes open up. He also showed the ability to knock down shots from the outside, making him a reliable option whether he's cutting, spotting up, or running the floor. Galloway's blend of physical tools and feel for the game makes him a steady and impactful presence on the wing. He finished with 18 points, knocking down four threes and pulling down five rebounds, showing his ability to impact the game beyond just scoring. Ladine isn't bashful from deep—and for good reason. When he gets a clean look, he's letting it fly.   He's especially dangerous coming off pin-down screens, already squared and ready to shoot. He even stepped well beyond the line, drilling a 27-footer off a dribble handoff, a shot that summed up his confidence and range. With his size, shooting ability, and willingness to stay aggressive, [player_tooltip player_id='2710103' first='Claxton' last='Ladine'] continues to establish himself as a perimeter threat defenses must account for at all times.     Sebastian Atako | 6'3 W | 2028   Sebastian Atako was a second-half difference maker, scoring all 12 of his points after the break. He provided a steady presence for Moreau, impacting the game on both ends and filling a true glue-guy role.   Defensively, Atako stayed active, making plays with his energy and awareness. Offensively, he capitalized on catch-and-shoot opportunities, knocking down shots from the mid-range baseline, the right corner three, and the left wing beyond the arc. His ability to stay ready and deliver when his number is called makes him a valuable piece and makes Moreau Catholic a scary bunch moving forward.      [player_tooltip player_id='2909031' first='Jackson' last='Duffy'] | 6'4 W | 2027   [player_tooltip player_id='2909031' first='Jackson' last='Duffy'] brings speed and aggression to the wing position, finishing with 10 points while constantly putting pressure on the defense. He's a jet in transition—when he secures a long rebound, he's thinking score, pushing the pace before defenders can recover.   Duffy is also able to create separation with crafty ball-handling, giving him space to attack off the bounce. As an athletic slasher, he consistently gets to the free-throw line by forcing contact at the rim. One sequence nearly turned into a highlight dunk on the break, but he was fouled mid-air and couldn't quite get the finish.
