What junior prospects out played their current rankings heading into our next update? During a nine day period I covered games from Jacobs, Elgin, Wheeling, Hinsdale Central, Jack Tosh, Collinsville, Pekin, Duster-Thomas, and Pontiac. These were 2027 players that significantly played above where they are currently ranked!

[player_tooltip player_id='2829740' first='Alex' last='Ambrose'] (Rockford Boylan – 2027)

Ambrose caught our attention on the PHC and had a big game in their first round defeat to Lakes at Hinkle. The 5'11” scoring guard was known most for his shooting, but we liked what we saw with his smooth handles getting in the lane for layups, trips to the line, and crafty conversions. Hit a three and a baseline J for 16 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2750020' first='Carson' last='Trivellini'] (Crystal Lake South – 2027)

Trivellini is an Illinois baseball commit that was a monster in their game against Grayslake Central scoring 17 points. The skilled and tough small forward attacks close outs, had crisp pull up twos, and won on straight line takes. Also liked how he was always aware of his teammates finding them for passes on the move.

[player_tooltip player_id='2632023' first='Sutton' last='Massey'] (O'Fallon – 2027)

Massey was pretty consistent in the two games we caught the Panthers play at Collinsville. The junior wing has quality size, good athleticism, and is turning potential into production. Sweeping layups, got to the line, knocks in open threes, and flashes defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323606' first='Asa' last='Harris'] (Leo – 2027)

The 5'10” Leo point guard was excellent in their win over Lanphier to open the Pekin Tournament. He is a dynamic ball handler that can get in the heart of the defense to score with scoop shots or dish. Also got hot from three in this game going for 15 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2839877' first='Elton' last='Jaegerskog'] (New Trier – 2027)

The New Trier wing stepped up in their quarterfinal win with Kirkpatrick out. They needed his offensive pop and he delivered pouring in a plethora of threes and mid-range jumpers along with hitting the glass scoring 15 points in the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125620' first='Duke' last='Ross'] (St. Ignatius – 2027)

Ross went off in the semis against Glenbard East recording 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists. He has really elevated his game as a junior! Shooting it with consistency from three as he did in this one going 5-7 along with crashing the board, passing, and being tough defensively.
