Iverson Classic: Under the Radar Juniors

The Iverson Classic Blackout Signature Series took place Friday and Saturday at The Villages, delivering 29 games and a weekend packed with high-level competition. Featuring many of the state's top teams and prospects, the event showcased standout performances across multiple classes. Here is a look at some "Under The Radar" 2027 prospects who had strong performances this weekend.    Despite Westminster Academy playing without two of its top players and dropping both games over the weekend, Williams was a clear bright spot for the Lions. The junior is a high-level athlete who finishes above the rim with ease and brings good size and strength. His offensive skill set continues to improve, and his physical tools give him the potential to become an elite defender as he develops.     The West Oaks product showcased his shooting ability with 12 points in a win over The New School (AR). Baymon is a strong, compact scoring guard who plays with an aggressive, attack-first mindset on the offensive end. He is a reliable shot-maker, can create his own offense off the dribble, and has the skill set to serve as a secondary ball handler, giving him value both on and off the ball.     The skilled junior turned in an impressive performance in the Jaguars' win over the host school, The Villages. Reed was excellent as both a shot-maker and shot-creator, showing the ability to score off the catch or off the dribble. He has above-average foot speed, handles the ball well, and changes speeds effectively to keep defenders off balance. His continued development makes him a prospect college coaches should monitor closely over the next six months.     One of a trio of highly talented 2027 prospects for CPCA, Sola is a long, lean, and mobile forward with significant upside. He moves well, has good hands, and flashes inside-out scoring ability on the offensive end. Continued physical development will be key to reaching his full potential, but his length and instincts already make him a unique defensive presence, while his offensive skill set continues to trend upward.     The floor general for CPCA, Pino brings good positional size and a very high basketball IQ to the point guard spot. He sees the floor well and consistently delivers the ball to open teammates. Even when playing off the ball, he remains effective as a cutter and floor spacer, with the ability to knock down open shots and keep the offense flowing.
