On January 1st-3rd I was at many games around the state watching the Hoophall West at Skyline HS and the NIKE Tournament of Champions at multiple locations in the East Valley.

Here were the Top Scoring PG's

[player_tooltip player_id='2412268' first='Maurice' last='Carter II'] Willow Canyon (Pictured)

A scoring point guard made some next level passes and could have been in the pure PG category but he scores it so well. First and foremost he is quick as a hiccup to get to the basket. He has a high level mid-range jumper and will hit the three or get to the free throw line. He will also elevate high for rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='1873684' first='Tyson' last='Crandall'] Highland

A scoring point guard is one of the more natural bucket getters in the junior class. He is sneaky quick to burst past his initial defenders and get to the basket. He will also crossover his defenders into a floater or runners and hit the three off the catch or pull. When he is rolling, the Hawks are hard to beat.

[player_tooltip player_id='1555181' first='Adrian' last='Higuera'] Millennium

A point guard who can make plays plus scores it. He has a nasty mid-range pull-up and his catch three keeps improving. He has a tighter handle to create some separation and can score with high level layups in traffic high off the glass over the shot blockers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1482211' first='Noah' last='Gloor'] Higley

One of the senior guard leaders of the team is a steady performer with mid-range jumpers with high elevation, deep threes from the volleyball line and tough contested floaters in the lane. The Embry-Riddle commit also sees the floor well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1490239' first='Daylen' last='Sharper'] Brophy Prep

A physical framed scoring guard who can play on or off the ball with his strong frame and elite size. He can get others involved but is good at putting points on the board with downhill drives with his frame, and-1 contact scores and gets to the free throw line often.

[player_tooltip player_id='2223522' first='Kolby' last='Barnes'] Perry

A good sized guard can play on or off the ball. He will drive and kick it, slip it into the post and scores it easily. He will run the lanes and his perimeter shooting keeps improving. He is shooting the three at a higher rate as he ages.

[player_tooltip player_id='2266384' first='Aiden' last='Williams'] Brophy Prep

A scoring lead guard can set the table and handle pressure but he wants to score it. He will often pull-up from mid-range and hit the three. He has real speed in the open court and he is very fast to beat opposing ball handlers to their spots on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1950104' first='Jonathan' last='Mercado'] Chandler

A strong and tough scoring lead guard can dime his teammates but feels most comfortable scoring. He will get to his spots and pull-up from mid to the three with a tighter handle. He will get downhill and score with layups and tough off balanced floaters.

[player_tooltip player_id='2146175' first='LJ' last='Diamond'] Perry

One of the top athletic scoring lead guards in the state had some great passes up the court. He had multiple athletic drives in the lane with and-1's. He will score with deep threes, fast euros, offensive rebound put backs and is tough to get downhill thru the contact. He will also collect steals and block shots.
