On January 1st-3rd I was at many games around the state watching the Hoophall West at Skyline HS and the NIKE Tournament of Champions at multiple locations in the East Valley.

Here were the Top Pure PG's

[player_tooltip player_id='1323290' first='Mason' last='Magee'] Basha

Magee guided the offense per usual and dimed his teammates in stride with last second drops offs and drive and kicks. He scored it with downhill takes using his next level gear and showed range with his three, high level pull-ups and had one nasty college-like tear drop. He also defended their top guards quite well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1555180' first='Delton' last='Prescott III'] Sunnyslope

I am not sure there has been a better 2027 PG on the West Coast in the last month of basketball. His timing and court vision are next level stuff with bullet pocket passes and basic stuff looking effortless. He will score it with deep threes, mid-range J's after a sudden pull-up, fall aways and his change of speed is dynamic. He also made a phenomenal trick shot at the buzzer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1464982' first='Miles' last='Sadler'] Bella Vista Prep

One of the top “prep” PG's in the country is guiding his top-10 team with passes straight into shooting pockets and needle threaders. He scored with floaters, off the dribble threes in bunches, drive by and-1's in traffic and his burst is a little different then most. The team goes as he goes.

[player_tooltip player_id='2802608' first='Liam' last='Mitakaro'] Bella Vista Prep (Pictured)

A smooth bigger scoring PG who can pour in points with mid-range pull-ups, 3's off the catch or pull and rebounds well with offensive rebound put backs. He will also needle thread some last second bail out passes and sees the court better then you think since he scores it well with live dribble passes. His size and length bothers his opponents.

[player_tooltip player_id='2407206' first='Cameron' last='Hurt'] Pinnacle

A point guard who is leading the fairly young team with bail out passes and up the court passes on a rope. He will still score it with euro steps down the lane after a burst, tear drops, offensive rebound put backs and perimeter jumpers.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194481' first='Justin' last='Kimbrough'] Mountain Pointe

An undersized point guard is dynamic with the ball in his hands. The ball is clearly on a string for him. He is quick on quick with incredible pull-ups from mid to the three point line and can make passes with either hand in style. He is also a quick on-ball defender with quicker hands and feet.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194474' first='Isaiah' last='Rider IV'] Higley

A bigger point guard who can score and shoots it well from mid to the three point line. He will fall away from his defender and get to the basket and earn some free throws but he is turning into a real PG who makes the game easy for his teammates and rebounds the ball well for position.
