Geneva MLK Day of Hoops: 2026 And 2027 Facilitators

Geneva HS played host to 16 teams on Monday for it's MLK Day of Hoops event. I was able to catch games 2 - 7. Let's look more closely at a handful of point guards who had strong outings in the classes of 2026 and 2027.    Goes off the dribble to create space and gets shots off efficiently. Showcased strong midrange game putting defenders on their heals. Great looking jumpshot. Will be able to get it off no problem at next level against more length and height. Active movement in ½ court sets. Screens with toughness and cuts hard off others. Has eyes peeled as well on drives. Collapsed D multiple times for drop-offs or spray outs. Led team with 26 total at a high clip.     Hard nosed facilitator in a well coached system. Freezes defenders on hesitations or jab steps then gets advantage. Comes off ball screens fast and hard with head up to see the floor. Made a cool slice and dice through traffic with a spin move and finish. Got down hill quickly a couple times off outlets to get to cup in a hurry. Active hands defensively. Solid from ft line. Helped enhance team's efficient offense in 2nd half with a big push to expand lead and not look back.     Sped pace of play up to continue to push offense into early flow. Effective passer. Worked well spacing away for a couple catch and shoot 3 pointers. Had a nice 2 man game going with other big showcasing a dual offensive threat. Made a back to back segment in third for a defensive rebound transition bucket then a follow-up offensive rebound score. Led all scorers at half and tallied him for 18 total on the night's action.     Inserted in top of 1-2-2 3/4ths trap and creates havoc from that spot. Anticipates next pass quickly and is a step ahead of play. Caused multiple turnovers in the front court to turn defense into offense. Utilizes wing span at that spot. Makes smart reads and decision on the offensive end. Picked off a pass then drove it to dish off to big man down low. Caught it on the wing and made a pin point entry pass for easy work from post man. A skilled guard with continued upside.     Poised and even keeled facilitator. Wasn't shaken by any means playing against more height and length. Can spot up with range. Made at least 4 triples in today's action. Got to the cup consistently as well with good feel at the rim. Had a steal and take-away to other end for and1 vs more size. Efficient from stripe. Had at least 20 in today's contest.
