Some games transcend the box score and become part of local basketball legends. These moments that help define legacies. These are the games where big names collide, national recognition meets hometown pride, and the spotlight shines a little brighter.

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, one of those moments unfolded at Calvary Baptist High School in Shreveport.

[player_tooltip player_id='2138026' first='Reese' last='Alston'], ranked by PrepHoops as the No. 16 overall prospect in the country and the No. 5 player in the state of Texas, made the trip to Shreveport to challenge the home floor and its star, [player_tooltip player_id='2316989' first='Tyrone' last='Jamison']. Jamison, ranked as the No. 32 national prospect and the No. 2 player in the state of Louisiana, was ready to defend it.

The matchup featured the nation's top two point guards, with Alston and Jamison holding the No. 1 and No. 2 spots in the national rankings. Bragging rights, pride, and national attention were all on the line with college recruiters in the gym from Kentucky, Alabama, Baylor, LSU and Louisville.

When the final horn sounded, it was Jamison and Calvary Baptist who emerged victorious. But the result only told part of the story. What unfolded was a tense, high-level battle worthy of the stage, an MLK battle of two future NBA Prospects in a game that will be remembered long after the scores fade.

Here are the players who rose to the moment in a contest for the ages.

If there was an MVP for the game, it would have to be Jamison. Jamison put the team on his back scoring 32 points and doing everything required to win. Jamison is at his best when he is facilitating and showcasing his elite pace, passing ability and overall IQ. The flip side of that is, he has continued to improve his ability to score and he is a guard that can do both. Jamison is a D1 Point Guard with everything coaches look for at the next level. He is beyond a special talent; he is a testament of hard work and consistency. He is a standout in any gym, and if he wants to be a Pro, he is on track to realize that dream.

Alston finished the game with 21 points and was just as advertised. He is a legit 6'3 point guard with a smooth blend of hooper and basketball player skill. He keeps the ball on a string and takes care of it, and shares the ball with his teammates willingly. His ability to score, facilitate, lead and do all the small things makes him a top prospect in the nation. His recruiting has already started and will be even more intense when the summer comes around. Amazing all around performance from the PrepHoops #1 Point Guard.

Smith is a big body with a smooth game that is already looking like a next level player. As a 2028, he surely has the skill and potential to be a next level player. He was impossble to defend as he scored 18 points in the game while dominating the boards on both ends of the floor. He currently averages, 10 pts, 8 rebounds and 1 block as a sophomore playing on one of the top teams in Texas. Keep an eye on this young prospect because he could shake up the Texas rankings during the next cycle.

Lewis added nine points in the game, but his scoring is not what stood out. His ability to settle the game in tense moments and keep his composure was an indicator of his overall basketball personality. Lewis hit his shots when he was open, handled the ball when required and locked in on defense which is another one of his elite qualities. Lewis is a sure-fire prospect in the 2028 class.

Dagley was asked to play minutes in the absence of one of the starters and he made the most of his opportunity by coming through at every turn. He hit a big three pointer at a crucial point in the game, finished on two layups requiring him to show his athleticism and he locked in on defense. Dagley is one one our ranked players and did everything we expect from a Louisiana hooper in the biggest moments.
