. An electric offensive weapon, Alston consistently puts pressure on defenses with his ability to attack downhill and finish above the rim. His athleticism creates advantages in transition and half-court situations alike, while his confidence as a shot creator allows him to generate offense against set defenses. Defenders struggle to stay attached once he gains momentum, making him one of the more difficult covers in the state.

sits atop the throne as not only the highest-ranked point guard in Houston, but also the top guard in the state. Alston has solidified himself as a legitimate draft prospect at every event he has attended, consistently dominating games as the premier floor general in the gym. Skip has showcased every trait a coach could want in a lead guard at the next level, from elite decision-making and shot creation to jaw-dropping poster dunks that remind everyone of his athletic upside.

One of the top point guards in the 2027 class nationally, Alston has taken his own path to rise to become a national star. Playing for a traditional high school program in Texas and on the Puma Circuit, Alston has been able to thrive with the ball in his hands and see any type of junk defensive coverage possible. Also taking visits to schools where he’d be able to be the featured player from day one, Alston has certainly prioritized being able to run the show as a leader from the point guard position at every step of his development. I’d expect Alston to be one of the most productive freshman when he heads to the college level.

Alston proves at on every occasion why he is viewed as one of the top point guards in the country. The nationally recognized floor general impacts the game in every possible way and is capable of putting up a triple-double on any given night. He scores efficiently at all three levels, whether it’s knocking down perimeter shots, getting to his floater, or finishing above the rim through contact. What separates him even more is his ability to operate out of the post and make advanced reads that most guards his age simply do not see. His versatility, feel, and overall control of the game make him one of the most complete guards in the nation.

Reese Alston may have been one of the most mature guards in attendance. He controlled the flow of games with patience early before strategically taking over when his team needed him most. Reese started games aggressively looking to score before naturally transitioning into getting teammates involved and creating open looks. His understanding of timing and momentum throughout games stood out immediately. Late in games, he consistently elevated his aggressiveness and carried the offensive load effortlessly. He looked completely comfortable with the pressure of being the focal point of this live event. Alston’s feel, confidence, and leadership made him the most impressive guard on the circuit.

Alston has had a huge rise since the start of last summer, dominating the Puma circuit and continuing to impress this winter. Taking official visits to SMU and Wichita State over the past few weeks, it seems like Alston might be prioritizing a path where he can play with the ball in his hands right away and have a team built around him. Playing at a traditional high school and on the Puma circuit shows that Alston is comfortable creating his own path. His Dad played over a decade in the NBA and certainly should know what it takes for a player to get to the highest level of basketball.

. His offensive skills, including scoring, ball-handling, facilitating, and IQ, make him my choice for the best high school guard in the country. Defensively, his ability to read passing lanes and turn defense into offense by pushing the ball up the floor creates transition opportunities. Currently, Reese has multiple Division I offers totaling around 20+. I’m looking forward to seeing how much he improves over the summer.

Alston delivered yet another 30-point performance where his scoring looked effortless and efficient. His speed and dribble package worked hand in hand, allowing him to play with pace, probing when necessary and accelerating instantly for straight-line drives to the rim. Once he gained a step, he made quick decisions and was difficult to contain, consistently putting pressure on the defense.

Alston finished the game with 21 points and was just as advertised. He is a legit 6’3 point guard with a smooth blend of hooper and basketball player skill. He keeps the ball on a string and takes care of it, and shares the ball with his teammates willingly. His ability to score, facilitate, lead and do all the small things makes him a top prospect in the nation. His recruiting has already started and will be even more intense when the summer comes around. Amazing all around performance from the PrepHoops #1 Point Guard.
