Emerging Basketball Stars: Freshman to Upperclassman Growth

They stay out of the spotlight and may fly under the radar, but over the course of the season they have those games that people talk about. Those performances that grow their name. Understanding the key to growth is consistency, and being the best as a Freshman is not the goal. The goal is to peak when you are an upperclassman. After watching him in the summer, I made notes. I have watched him this season, and he is an undeniable talent and next level prospect. He has added size, a more refined handle, sustained confidence and flat out undeniable explosiveness. Against LCCP, he just kept dunking. That will catch an eye or two, but all season he has been unstoppable. His ability to stand out on a high level team and showcase the intangibles while playing the smart and skill game is what's most impressive. He is a standout on both sides of the ball and plays with a special energy that will surely excite college coaches. His game stand out in the offense. He makes the tips, grabs the rebounds and makes the shots that make good teams into Champions. He is a strong player with a high motor to match his skill. He is a key piece to the Northshore puzzle, and he really just does it all. He can score the ball, rebounds at a high level and steps up when it is time to defend. His athleticism is obvious and he will meet anybody at the rim. On the court there is nothing he can't do with the ball in his hands. He is a savvy point guard with a gift for facilitating, but he can also score the ball at a high level. He is a strong leader and coach on the floor. This season it is coming together and his game has evolved since last year. He is bigger, stronger, faster and more skilled. He can step out and shoot the three with confidence which makes him even more dangerous. He blocks shots at the rim and controls the boards, and of course he can finish with authority.
