1: Millwood 14-2

The defending Class 3A champions have been well covered on the site over recent weeks. And have a case for being the top team in the state, regardless of class. They have an opportunity to prove that on Saturday when they visit the 918 to play defending 5A Champions Booker T Washington. Will have more on the Falcons after that contest.

2: Roland 10-0

The eastern Oklahoma team reached State last year, then were sent home by the eventual champs Millwood in the first round. Based on the way they're ripping through competition to start the year, they want a rematch. But want it in the semifinals or the finals. With sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2398309' first='Damonte' last='Owens'] at the helm, that's very much in the cards. He exploded for 29 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists against Muldrow to win the Armstrong Bank Sequoyah County Classic on Saturday. Then followed that up with five three pointers on his way to 28 points and another 5 assists in a Tuesday win over Poteau. Owens is an amazing blend of skill, feel and quickness. Which is backed up be the numbers with his ability to win games with his scoring or setting up his teammates. A potential match up with Heritage Hall looms for Owens and the Rangers next week in Miami at the NEO Tournament.

3: Heritage Hall 10-1

The Chargers suffered their first set back on Tuesday night, with a loss to Class 4A powerhouse Douglass. It came in overtime, where the Chargers had opportunities to win it but couldn't capitalize. One area to watch with The Hall is rebounding. The Chargers often leave it to their junior wing-forward [player_tooltip player_id='2140723' first='Braelon' last='Bradshaw'] to corral the boards, but against athletic teams like Douglass it can lead issues. As they were out rebounded 50-35, much it on the offensive end. Giving Douglass second and even third chance opportunities. It's a bitter learning experience for a team that was red hot, but came at an opportune to stop and grow before the stretch run.

Speaking of learning experiences, "Boogie" had an up and down game. The 6 foot 5 junior had his moments of brilliance thanks to his athleticism and even scored 14 points. But he left points on the board and had a tough mistake late in the contest that could've cost his team overtime. Bradshaw has an outstanding motor, as he's embraced his ability to change games in the paint. But in Heritage Hall's biggest game, he played a bit too amped up. Finding the right level of intensity but also playing loose in the biggest games is an important step in his development.

4: Kellyville 13-0

The Ponies are looking for their second State Tournament appearance in three years. They've grabbed a couple in season tournament titles in preparation for a playoff run, including last week's Ripley title. Which saw them take down Chandler, a team that made last year's state tournament. As with many small town teams, it starts with the backcourt for Kelllyville. In this case they have junior [player_tooltip player_id='2140789' first='Ryker' last='Buckley'], a crafty producer since his freshman year. One of his top running mates is senior [player_tooltip player_id='2505057' first='Cashon' last='Webster'], a quality shooter. He hit four threes in Friday's semifinal win over Glencoe. The senior recently hit 1,000 points for her career. He's a sniper with good range and a solid pull up for when defense close out on him.

They'll look to go 3 for 3 in regular season tournaments when they host their own next week. Which features potential match ups with 3A programs Community Christian and Rejoice Christian.

5: Crooked Oak 13-4

Except for a speed bump against likely 4A State Tournament team, North Rock Creek, the Ruf-Nex have been perfect in 2026 with a 5-1 mark. Including last night's win against fellow 3A foe Jones. Crooked Oak got off to a slow start, but they have mismatch problem for a lot of Class 3A. 6 foot 6 senior Alvin Dorsey was a force to be reckoned with in the post He's built like an offensive lineman, is a bruiser at the rim and has a soft touch. Dorsey almost single handedly kept CO in the game early.

What allowed Crooked Oak to rally and even take a lead into the halftime break was their waves of pressure. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='3344611' first='Pablo' last='Williams'] is a ringleader of their hungry guards, who are quick to pounce on any mistake in the backcourt. Pushing them over the top in the final frame was senior [player_tooltip player_id='1552383' first='Jordan' last='Martinez'], who is a microwave shooter with parking lot range. They are looking like a complete team, capable of making a state tournament push. Especially with rising sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2552538' first='Jadien' last='Dixon'], who made his presence felt in the second half with tough finishes at the rim.

Keep an eye on: Rejoice Christian 8-4

The Eagles have mored up from 2A and got off to a rough start with a challenging schedule vs mostly 6A competition. They were also missing a few key pieces from football. Now with their football players back (after they won another state title), Rejoice has ripped off 8 straight wins, all by 10 points or more.

A test Friday against 4A contender Cascia Hall will be illuminating. But they also have the type of roster that should continue to peak. As two of their key players are underclassmen, two of the best in Oklahoma. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2820266' first='Kamieon' last='Compton-Nero'] is a naturally regarded football recruit. Who not only is only one of the best athletes in 3A, he's also a certified hooper. While 6 foot 8 freshman Noah Mednez has recovered from a preseason injury. He's knocking down triples and blocking shots for the Eagles.
