Vaqueros Impress At The Legacy Tip-Off Classic

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Fernley Vaqueros are looking like serious 3A State Championship contenders after an impressive showing at The Legacy Tip-Off Classic.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I watched their first game of the tournament against Rancho, and their pace, skill, and size immediately caught my attention.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Senior guards [player_tooltip player_id='1768793' first='Bryce' last='Stephens'], [player_tooltip player_id='2356155' first='Sheldon' last='Jacobson'], and Nolan Berreman all play with poise and consistently look for the best shot possible.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Stephens and Jacobson played at a very high level on both ends, which helped Fernley build a sizable lead.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Three of their core players: Drew Peterson, Leeland Ketelaar, and Body Parsons are also 6'4 or taller, giving them an advantage on the boards and they clogged up the paint. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The final score of their matchup against the Rancho Rams was 71-51.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>They then played Faith Lutheran next, and their strong guards once again brought their A-game.
