One of the more skilled guards in Ohio's 2028 class, Lomack can get low on his dribble moves and change directions in an instant. Lomack has soft touch on mid-range shots and floaters and was efficient as a freshman on varsity. Making that level of impact at the varsity level as a freshman on one of the most prestigious programs in the state shows how advanced his overall skillset and competitiveness is for his age. Expect to hear a lot about Lomack for the Irish the next three years.

One of the top small school guards in Ohio's 2028 class, Johnson proved he could hang with players from all over Ohio as he was one of the top performers from the sophomore ID camp. Johnson has a nice mix of a quick first step, impressive ball handling ability to change directions while slashing to the paint and the ability to knock down a 3-pointer. Johnson has wasted no time making noise during his sophomore season as he exploded for a career high 31 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in a win over Tusky Valley. I don't expect 31 to remain his career high for long if Johnson continues to play with the confidence he's shown early this year.

Another small town standout, Edwards was a major stock riser during the midwest fall league in columbus. With good positional size from the wing guard position, Edwards is already a primary ball handler for the Chieftains. I was impressed by Edwards ability to create offense for himself and others. Edwards also can use either hand to attack off the bounce and shoots a clean ball out of his hands. Edwards impressed with Midwest MHC 15 U last summer and should be a key building block for their program this summer as well.

Mentor plays a full court pressing system that is as fast of a tempo as any team in Ohio. Kennedy is a perfect fit for this style of play because of his relentless on ball pressure and incredible skill. Kennedy has an uncanny ability to get around his defender and either hit a floater over a shot blocker or kickout to a shooter for a 3-point shot. A true example of heart over height, Kennedy will finish near the top of Mentor's scoring and assist marks for his career if he stays healthy over the course of his career.

Like Lomack who was featured earlier in this article, Link is the rare player who was able to play at the varsity level as a freshman for Saint Edward. Link takes care of the basketball, has the positional size to read over the defense and is efficient as a scorer. Producing at the level Link did as a freshman is eye-opening and he's continued his strong play as a sophomore for the Eagles. Link made waves for the Ohio Bruins on the Made Hoops Circuit over the summer, an under the radar team based out of northeast Ohio at the grassroots level. I'm excited to continue to watch Link grow as a player over the next few years.
