The Minnesota Team Rankings:Morris Area Bursts into top 5

Week Three of the Team Rankings! We have lots of resorting to do after a great week of games.

Weekly Rankings Analysis

AAAA. Love that Hopkins and Tartan are finishing the game on Tuesday. We did flip Hopkins and Tartan last week after their 27 minutes of action, we can now adjust accordingly after that game is played (keep in mind, Jayden Moore Jayden Moore 6'0" | PG Hopkins | 2026 State MN didn't play in that game and I assume that continues Tuesday which of course makes a big impact).

Prior Lake dropped out of the rankings after losing their fourth game of the season in five tries, we really had to dive into a lot of teams for the new spot. Looked at EP, Farmington, Waconia, Osseo, Edina and Lakeville South and we picked the Cougars as they were our next up in the power rankings without a loss to somebody ranked below them. Their win over Chaska was a big one and they are undefeated, but they also play Farmington tomorrow.

AAA. First off, Totino-Grace is in the middle of a Class AAAA gauntlet and so far so good. CDH and Wayzata are next. St. Paul Johnson defeated Mankato East in a very close game pushing Johnson into the top five while East hangs on in the top ten as they did play Johnson close, they knocked Faribault out of the rankings previously, and beat a good Northfield team. But that Century loss has East hanging by a thread in the top ten. Stewartvile replaces Hibbing in the top ten after a four point head to head win. The Tigers also defeated Lake City this year.

AA. For starters, Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta is a team we had on the verge on the top ten and they went in and beat second ranked Montevideo by a score. Huge game. They also beat top five Class A team Dawson-Boyd so we push them right into the top four. Jackson County Central lost two games last week, they don't have Roman Voss Roman Voss 6'3" | SF Jackson County Central | 2026 State MN right now so that is of course a big factor. Lake City lost a pair last week so they have dropped out of the rankings as well. Also dropped out Minnehaha Academy. Losing to Holy Family and Orono in close games does not get a team dropped out, but losing a game to a solid Southwest team by 16 does combined with the other losses, and of course not winning yet. We welcome back Caledonia who is young and full of new players, and they still blow out a couple decent teams plus beat Rushford-Peterson. And we also welcome back defending state champion Albany! Big win for them this month over Annandale and they took care of business with others.

A. East Central beat Braham, they were then 9 and 10. East Central was then beat badly by Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, that pulls both of them out of the top ten for now, two names stepping in. Two good teams in Central Minnesota Christian and Henning.
