His on-ball defense proved to be a game-changer, forcing turnovers, dictating angles, and steering his man to one side of the floor, which created tough passes and timely steals. He applied elite ball pressure with a low base, quick lateral feet, and an active hand near the dribble, consistently taking away space, turning his matchup, and controlling the direction of drives.     Brooks made a major impact with his motor and relentless hustle for 50/50 balls, playing with a true ball-hawk nature. He affected the glass by staying on the move, following plays all the way to the hoop and refusing to quit on any possession. He didn't just grab rebounds—he snatched them out of the air, one-handed or two-handed, with an intensity that imposed his will physically.     An effective, trusted rotation player whose feel for the game always kept him in the right spot at the right time. He played with great timing, high-level instincts, and strong basketball awareness that consistently put him in winning positions.
