We are entering into the holiday season. These next two weeks offer elite evaluation opportunities for us as we can see so many teams and players under one roof with tournaments, classics, and showcase events taking place all across the state. This coming week alone Prep Hoops Indiana will have boots on the ground coverage from over 25 games. With all of the games taking place over the next couple of weeks we will likely get a lot of movement in our rankings. However, here is how things stand going into Week 5.

We actually had quite a bit of shakeup here in the Class 1A rankings. Kouts held onto the top spot, but the rest moved around due to some losses and strengthened resumes. It isn't easy moving Liberty Christian down when they lose to none-Class 1A teams and we generally try to stay away from that. Quite frankly, it is very unlikely they go further down that #5 without a 1A or "bad" 2A/3A loss. However, Hauser and Barr-Reeve have strong enough resumes that they have earned the right to move up. West Central, previously ranked #10, defeated Washington Township so they essentially swapped spots. Loogootee is back in the rankings at #10.

Gary 21st Century isn't moving from the #2 spot unless they lose to a 2A or "bad" 3A team. Their losses are to one of the best teams in Illinois, one of the best teams in Missouri, and Class 4A #3 Pike. There is no reason to believe they aren't still one of the two best teams in 2A. Westview and Oak Hill continue to build strong resumes. Both Linton and University moved down quite a bit following surprising losses.

Not very much movement this week in Class 3A. Crispus Attucks did jump from #6 to #4 thanks to a three-win week which includes victories over Warren Central, Jeffersonville, and Evansville Bosse. They are playing at a very high level right now. Both Silver Creek and Northview will be participants in Tuesday's Hall of Fame Classic at New Castle High School.

The only loss this past week from our Top 10 was New Albany losing 80-78 at #4 Lawrence North. In our opinion, that did more to solidify their #10 ranking than it did to hurt it. Crown Point and Mt. Vernon (Fortville) will participate on Tuesday in the Hall of Fame Classic at New Castle High School.
