In a stunning and turbulent Tuesday night tussle MHEA knocked off perennial power Fayette Ware in The WareHouse, 51-49. The hosting Wildcats consistently struggled to effectively penetrate MHEA"s 2-3 zone anchored in back by [player_tooltip player_id='1766453' first='Marcus' last='Butler Jr']., [player_tooltip player_id='3244157' first='David' last='Abram'], and Parker Cross. Abram, in particular, was swatting away layups like flies all night. He is a daunting presence and with the 2-3 he never needed to leave the lane defensively to chase his man.

Fayette Ware ate a lot of fourth quarter clock in the four corners set. Nobody scored and almost nobody shot for the first four minutes of the fourth quarter. In the latter stages the Wildcats became abnormally turnover prone. MHEA guard Nicolas Mainetti delivered two crispy cookies on a platter in the final ninety seconds of regulation. Both resulted in layups.

Fulton High put an end to the Seymour fun with a narrow 50-48 victory despite Jack Mcabee's 21 points and [player_tooltip player_id='2675165' first='Hayes' last='Golden']'s nine assists. [player_tooltip player_id='2675165' first='Hayes' last='Golden'] has an outside shot at District MVP this year, but Seymour's opponent likely educates the favorite...[player_tooltip player_id='2495403' first='Nick' last='Steen'].

Hickman County's Bulldogs dispatched of Waverly High's Tigers, 58-46 Thursday night. Hickman County loved to spread the floor, which helped [player_tooltip player_id='3103296' first='Will' last='McDonald'] go off. Tall guard [player_tooltip player_id='2315906' first='Dylan' last='Qualls'] provided rebounding and scoring.

Down the line [player_tooltip player_id='2435119' first='Jack' last='Floyd'] (2029) is an elite passer worth tracking. The former Prep Hoops Expo participant sharply bounced an outlet pass catching his teammate in stride.

If the Bulldogs rebounded more consistently then the game would have lacked the competitiveness it held. Waverly earned extra opportunities by scrapping and clawing on the offensive glass.

Waverly fell to 9-5 overall as HCHS ascended to 7-4.
