Dublin Coffman is usually one of the elite shooting teams in central Ohio and Guth caught fire from long distance on Monday afternoon. Making a high percentage of his shots off the catch, Guth hit shots from the wing and corner off the catch. My favorite bucket Guth had all day was a double pivot bucket where he used crafty footwork to create space to score. Look for Guth to have a big summer with Midwest Basketball Club MHC.

Playing some tough teams from Ohio, Central Hardin got some quality experience that should help them going into the new year in Kentucky. Nichols is a skilled wing guard who plays on balance and has an old-school game. Money from the mid-range area, Nichols had a handful of buckets from the 12-18 foot range on Monday. Physical for his height, Nichols even scored on a post up with his back to the basket. With Nichols and [player_tooltip player_id='2420996' first='Camdyn' last='Hogan'], Central Hardin has one of the more talented duos in their region.

Grove City got a nice win as the Greyhounds have had a fast start to the 2025-26 season. I liked that Tolliver crashed the offensive glass, using his height and length to his advantage. On one possession Tolliver had multiple offensive rebounds to help create extra shots for his team. Tolliver also had a couple easy assists with advances up the court in transition. Add in his perimeter shooting and ability to attack closeouts and it's easy to see why Tolliver is one of the top wing guards in central Ohio's 2027 class.

Blye was hurt the first time I saw Aiken this year so it was nice to see him on the court making a big impact. Blye was the biggest player on the court and wanted to play hard at both ends of the court. Able to move his feet defensively, his massive frame deters opponents from trying to score on him in the paint and had two blocked shots. Blye had a putback layup offensively and grabbed three rebounds at both ends of the court. Name to watch in Cincinnati's 2027 class.

Olentangy Orange got their first win of the season in a tight battle with Cincinnati Aiken in a battle of teams who made it to UD Arena last season in the state championships. Ceol is a big time vertical athlete who had a couple of dunks in transition when he got behind the defense. In the closing moments as the Pioneers were extending their lead, Ceol had multiple buckets to wrap up the win. Ceol could be a potential breakout candidate this season with an Olentangy Orange squad integrating so many new faces at the varsity level this season.

Sweet made a high percentage of his jumpers in a tight loss to Tri Village, a fellow state title contender. Sweet went 3/5 from 3-point range and continues his momentum after scoring 23 points in a two-point victory over Indian Lake. I liked how Sweet took shots on balance and didn't force the issue after getting hot. Jonathan Alder has a talented team and should contend for a conference title despite an early season loss to Urbana.
