Feast Week: 2029 CG/F Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Thanksgiving week I attended four tournaments for exactly 25 games and 48 different teams. The events I watched were&nbsp;<strong>Phoenix Union Coyote Classic</strong>&nbsp;at Central and Deer Valley for 2 days,&nbsp;<strong>Fear The Hop Tournament</strong>&nbsp;at Mesa HS,&nbsp;<strong>Ben Franklin Thanksgiving Classic&nbsp;</strong>at Ben Franklin and Gilbert Christian and lastly the&nbsp;<strong>LV8 Invitational</strong>&nbsp;at Chandler-Gilbert CC.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Here were some&nbsp;<strong>2029 CG/F Standouts</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3148393' first='Henry' last='Miller'] Seton Catholic (Pictured)&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A cerebral and skilled combo guard. He will score with ball fakes and euro steps to the basket and can crossover his defender and get a step to the basket. He rebounds well in his area and will close out to shooters on defense. He made clutch free throws down the stretch to win it.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3068452' first='Javon' last='Darby'] Red Mountain</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A thicker framed cerebral combo guard with a huge IQ for the game, strength and a lot of skill. The youngest of the three Darby brothers can shoot it easily from the three point line and from mid-range. He can get on the glass and score with put backs.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3148414' first='Christian' last='Brady'] ALA Ironwood&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A highly skilled wing forward with some size. He shoots it easily from mid-range with a higher release and arc on the ball to not get his shot blocked. He has good hands with a very soft touch from the perimeter. He was super efficient with his scoring in the game and scored 14 points with seven made jumpers on 10 attempts. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2953319' first='Keith' last='Harrison'] Maryvale&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A long and athletic wing seems to collect steals in bunches with his quick twitch athleticism in the passing lanes. He will get out on the break in transition to score plus hit the three off the catch. He scored 7 points in the game I viewed.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2956985' first='Elijah' last='Antoine'] Maryvale&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another long wing with a live body. He will score it around the basket with offensive rebound put backs and is very efficient around the rim using his length and athleticism. He is a very good rebounder in and out of his area and he scored 8 points.  </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2506518' first='Azariah' last='Reetz'] Carl Hayden&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A power forward with good size and length. He uses his athleticism and length to get on the glass for offensive rebound put backs, he is a quick leaper and will dunk it on the break and score with alley-oops plus block shots at a high clip. He scored 18 points.  </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2949118' first='Jayden' last='Hollie'] Deer Valley&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A long and lean combo guard who seems to be growing a little already and his athleticism is slowly kicking in. He is a known catch and shoot three point type with a pretty stroke but he is showing more of what he can do with offensive rebound put backs and mid-range pull-ups. He will also rebound and take charges. He scored 11 points.  </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3077467' first='Kanyon' last='Gidney'] West Point&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A combo guard can play on or off the ball. He can handle the ball fairly well and will make a play. He is definitely on the court to be a floor spacer currently for the varsity. He looks like a catch and shoot three point specialist for the West Valley team and brings some range and confidence.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
