2026 PF Kruise Hammond (Sumner-Fredericksburg) -- 37 points (13-26 FG, 11-20 3P), 13 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block [vs. Jesup]

A 6-5 forward who showed that he can clearly step out and stretch the floor, Hammond buried 11 3-pointers en route to a massive 37-point, 13-rebound double-double against Jesup. It's not often you see a big man, especially at the small school level, with the ability to shoot it as well as Hammond did in this matchup against the J-Hawks.

2026 SF [player_tooltip player_id='2287857' first='Brayden' last='Hoben'] (Grand View Christian) -- 36 points (15-25 FG, 5-11 3P, 1-3 FT), 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks [vs. Saydel]

Grand View Christian hasn't gotten off to the start that many expected, but Hoben's big performance against Saydel last week was a major highlight of the early season. A 6-5/6-6 combo forward who can score inside and out, Hoben's all-around versatility on both ends of the floor was on full display here.

2027 SF [player_tooltip player_id='2419757' first='Bryer' last='Putman'] (Wilton) -- 31 points (14-22 FG, 3-6 FT), 14 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 steals, 1 block [vs. Alburnett]

Putman is one of the most dynamic two-way players in the state, regardless of class, and he showed that off against the Pirates, with a massive double-double that also included six stocks. He's a big, athletic wing who gets to the rim routinely, is excellent in the mid-range, and is a force on the glass on both ends of the floor.

2027 SG [player_tooltip player_id='2865242' first='Adrian' last='Whipple'] (Eagle Grove) -- 31 points (10-15 FG, 2-5 3P, 9-13 FT), 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal [vs. Garner-Hayfield-Ventura]

Whipple is a capable perimeter shooting threat, but it was his ability to play downhill and get to the rim and free-throw line that was on full display against GHV, attempting 13 free throws and shooting 67% from the floor en route to his 31 points.

2028 SG Karson Welander (Pocahontas Area) -- 30 points (12-19 FG, 2-3 3P, 4-5 FT), 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals [at East Sac County]

Welander put up a really nice all-around game against East Sac County, coming away with what former Prep Hoops Iowa writer TJ Rushing referred to as a quadruple-nickel (five of four different statistical categories). He's a 5-10 guard who can play with or without the ball in his hands.

2026 SG [player_tooltip player_id='1765543' first='Quinn' last='Street'] (Osage) -- 30 points (12-33 FG, 4-11 3P, 2-4 FT), 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals [vs. North Butler]

Street recently became Osage's all-time leading scorer, and while it took 33 shots to get his 30 points against North Butler, the Green Devils needed every one of those points in a tense double-overtime win. A quick guard who can score inside and out, he can do a little bit of everything on both ends of the floor for Osgae.

2026 PF Connor Soesbe (Northeast) -- 20 points (9-10 FG, 2-2 FT), 17 rebounds (8 offensive), 1 steal, 2 blocks [vs. Maquoketa]

A 6-3 forward who has come seemingly out of nowhere to give the Rebels an interior presence, Soesbe was great against the Cardinals, shooting 90% from the floor and dominating the glass on both ends of the floor.

2026 PG [player_tooltip player_id='2731640' first='Owen' last='Mills'] (Sioux Central) -- 26 points (12-16 FG, 2-2 FT), 7 rebounds, 11 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks [at Pocahontas Area]

Mills has been one of the most productive players in the class early this season, as he showed against Pocahontas Area, putting up a really impressive double-double. He has good size at 6-3, great vision, and is an athletic, tough guard who can get to the rim whenever he wants.
