Elk River got 7 points early from 2026 senior [player_tooltip player_id='1560841' first='Dominic' last='Webster'], 2026 senior [player_tooltip player_id='1560770' first='Chase' last='Sheldon'], and 2027 junior [player_tooltip player_id='2447459' first='David' last='Balisidya'] to counter [player_tooltip player_id='1560850' first='Tristan' last='Hanson']'s early 3-pointer; the Elks offense struggled while Hanson thrived for the next 10 minutes or so as Elk River without leading scorer and shooter 2026 senior [player_tooltip player_id='1560831' first='Levi' last='Harris'].

[player_tooltip player_id='1560850' first='Tristan' last='Hanson'] scored 28 points for Centennial in various ways, and showed ability to play the wing very well versus Elk River. Hanson made multiple outside shots, handled the ball well enough as a secondary ball handler, and defensively held up well on the perimeter and inside. Hanson, who played with the [program_tooltip program_id='2075674' first='Minnesota' last='Heat'] for AAU on the Prep Hoops Circuit, stands six-foot-five-inches and is a solid athlete.

[player_tooltip player_id='2848335' first='Brady' last='Anderson'], a six-foot-six-inch 2028 sophomore for Centennial was also impressive around the rim and defending on the perimeter. Anderson was versatile inside and outside, rebounded, and showed high IQ on the floor. Anderson's cutting and successful scoring at the rim gave Centennial an extra punch as he scored 20 points in the game.

Brody Thompson led the Elks with 12 points with hard drives and cuts to the basket in the half-court and transition. Thompson is a six-foot-two-inch 2026 senior guard who's committed for football to UW Eau Claire.

Elk River 2026 seniors [player_tooltip player_id='1560770' first='Chase' last='Sheldon'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1560841' first='Dominic' last='Webster'] scored 10 and 8 respectively. Sheldon, a six-foot-two-inch guard, showed some better finishing ability at the rim, and did a lot of the ball handling for Elk River with Harris out.

Centennial 2026 guard [player_tooltip player_id='2431146' first='Shawn' last='Eline'] gave Centennial a good steady guard to handle the ball and run the show. Eline showed he could hit 3-pointers on one shot he knocked down.

JV Players to Watch

Owen Ostmoe - Ostmoe is a five–foot-eleven-inch 2027 junior who looked very confident with the ball, had plenty of strong drives, and was very under control for Elk River's JV squad. Ostmoe played only a half and then contributed in the varsity game with some ball handling and defense. His 3-pointer jumper looked smooth although he wasn't able to knock any down.

Wesley Guanzini - Guanzini is a five-foot-ten-inch 2029 freshman guard for Centennial that had a good year on the Prep Hoops Circuit playing Next tournaments with [program_tooltip program_id='2075693' first='MN' last='Crossfire']. Guanzini a good long distance shooter, passer, and lead of attack guard. Guanzini playing JV seemed very under control and not out of his element.

[player_tooltip player_id='2842103' first='Jackson' last='Davis'] - Davis a five-foot-ten-inch 2028 guard for Elk River that played with Hoop Habits last summer still as good as ever as a passer and a quick first step. Davis is pass first player that I need to see become more of a scorer at times and once he matures more he could really help a team with his passing vision.
