Although this sophomore class, has the 15u season behind them, not all of them got clock on varsity as freshmen. And while some are now the cornerstones of their teams, others are rotation players. So despite their varied circumstances, these five are starting to announce themselves on the high school scene:

Amisial quietly built a solid foundation as a freshman on varsity, but now he's beginning to break ground with a young team. The twitchy combo guard can create space for three-point jumpers with or without a ball-screen, as well as get to the basket. He can also read the low defender in ball-screens and hit his teammate rolling or popping. Amisial has had some loud performances; now he just has to get that to translate to the win column.

[player_tooltip player_id='2815764' first='Kohen' last='Gaines'] | 6'5 F 2028 MOT Charter

In his first season as a starter, the younger Gaines is providing the Mustangs with a physical presence inside of the paint. He's comfortable walling up in the trenches and crashing the boards against other forwards, then converting second-chance opportunities. Gaines can also set out on the perimeter to accentuate the ball movement and knock down the occasional three. His versatility will continue to blossom as long as he doesn't forget his bread and butter on the interior.

[player_tooltip player_id='2619231' first='Denzel' last='Jones'] II | 5'11 G 2028 Caesar Rodney

In the wake of an all-state caliber football season, Jones has gone from defensive specialist and opportunistic scorer to two-way playmaker. He's still disruptive on defensive with his quickness but now he has the handle to apply it on offense. Jones II is creating driving angles and space to pull-up from deep off the bounce. His play thus far has the Riders on pace to eclipse last season's win total.

[player_tooltip player_id='2566662' first='Justin' last='Webb'] | 6'0 G 2028 Conrad

Webb made varsity last season but this year he's earned a spot in the rotation and is holding his own with the upperclassmen. The first or second player off the bench, he is playing within himself and the flow of the game with his passing and defense. And when he catches the ball in rhythm, Webb is confidently pulling from behind the arc. His two three-point makes per game could be a sign that the game is slowing down for him and that the light is starting to come on.

[player_tooltip player_id='2519961' first='Braylon' last='Williams'] | 6'4 G 2028 Dover

On one of the top teams in the state which also features his older brother, Williams isn't starting or producing a ton, however he is showing some impressive flashes. A big guard, Williams exploits tilted defenses by hitting spot-up threes, attacking closeouts, and kicking to other shooters off of drives. His solid build and wingspan allow him to contribute on the glass and on defense too. As he gets more experience on varsity and tightens his handle, Williams will continue to rise up the board.
