Tristan Reed Commits to Mississippi State

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Standout Class of 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='1850526' first='Tristan' last='Reed'] of Link Year Academy has given a commitment to Mississippi State.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 6'9 power forward made his announcement on Saturday at John Burroughs School, where he was a three year standout before transferring to Link for his senior year. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Reed is currently the No. 2 player in the latest Prep Hoops Missouri Class of 2026 rankings. He chose Mississippi State over Missouri, Ohio State, Michigan State and Maryland. Reed cited the relationship that he built with head coach Chris Jans as a big factor in his decision.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>”Coach Jans is an amazing dude,” Reed said. “He's an all-around honest dude. I feel like I can grow and develop under him.”</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Reed was a two-time All-State selection at John Burroughs. As a sophomore, he averaged 16.5 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.8 blocks in leading the Bombers to a berth in the Class 4 state championship game.
