We are only a few weeks away from the first scrimmages in the lead up to the 2025-26 KHSAA basketball season. The excitement level for this year is high. This is the first time in a few years that we haven't had a few teams that are clearly ahead of the pack in the race for the state title. I am going to be previewing all 16 regions by breaking down the top 5 teams and the top 5 college prospects in each region. Being a top 5 college prospect and being a top 5 player in the region are not the same thing. There are a lot of really good high school players in Kentucky who are not necessarily great college prospects. Here's a look at the top 5 teams and prospects in the fourth region, where Bowling Green and Warren Central look to be at the top of the region once again.

Byrd is on the comeback trail after an injury cost him about 6 months. Armani missed the final stretch of his Sophomore season and then missed all of his AAU season. Assuming he's healthy all season, Byrd should be the best prospect in the region and be one of the leaders for a Dragons roster that should be in the driver's seat to get back to Rupp Arena.

Only a freshman, Davis is one of the top football prospects in the state in the 29 class but is also a top basketball player. A lefty wing with good size and really good athleticism, Anthony should be an immediate impact player for the Purples.

A transfer into Central over the summer, Kaleb brings immediate firepower to the Dragon roster. Capable of scoring from all three levels, Prince excels at getting downhill and attacking the paint. From there he is capable of scoring at a high rate or kicking to teammates.

Button has been the go to scorer for Metcalfe for several years now. Relied upon to carry the hornet offense for the last few seasons, Cade is also a player who makes high IQ plays that impact winning. With a strong Senior season, I expect Button to win regional player of the year and have Metcalfe County in the mix for a regional title.

One of the top Senior shooters in the state, Pedigo was a 39% shooter from downtown last year and has high expectations for his Senior year at AC-S. After averaging over 18 points per game last season, Kyler should be able to put up over 20 points per contest this season.
