This past weekend The HoopState Network and Highland School teamed up for the first annual HoopState Virginia Tip-Off. There was a ton of talent on display over the course of the two day, six game slate. There were prospects all over the floor this weekend, let's take a look at some of the top backcourt performers!

Carter delivered an elite performance on Friday night vs Greenfield. His outside shot making set the tone early, he's got a pure release from distance and a ton of confidence in that aspect of his game. He can attack closeouts and make plays for himself or others, he also provides a ton of energy defensively, active in passing lanes, and just a general pest at that end of the floor. As he continues to fill his frame out, he has a chance to really turn the corner and become a big time prospect. Expect big things from Carter all season long.

The Sewanee commit is a fearless shooter playing alongside consensus 5 star prospect [player_tooltip player_id='2292410' first='Jordan' last='Page']. Hudson's ability to shoot it from multiple feet beyond the three point line is a huge asset to this team because of the spacing it provides. He's willing to put his body on the line to pursue the basketball, he also can be a stabilizing presence at both ends of the floor with his vocal leadership. Hudson makes good decisions in transition where he's a capable finisher at the rim. Sewanee got a high quality player to add into their program for the coming years.

Palmer was a breakout performer for the host school Highland with his ability to shoot it off the bounce from absolutely any and everywhere on the floor. This is a kid that clearly works on his game because his fundamentals are so strong and they directly translate to production. His range provides so much spacing, he's got a quick first step and a tight handle to go with making the right decision more often than not. This kid has a chance to be a real riser in Virginia in the coming years and this weekend was just the start in my opinion.

Dickens was really impressive this weekend, particularly with what he did in Greenfield's Saturday win over Prince George Christian. His constant ball pressure and presence in the passing lanes allowed Greenfield to disrupt the rhythm of the opposition at different times throughout the game. He used his dynamic end to end speed to get to the basket in transition and finished extremely well around the rim on the break. He made timely plays at both ends of the floor and that is proving to be a theme for Greenfield early on this season.

Huang did a superb job running the show for his team on Friday night in their win over Greenfield by managing the game at a high level. His ability to spread the ball to his talented teammates, call his own number when needed, and hold his own defensively was exactly what his team needed to get the win. Huang is capable scoring from all three levels, has great positional size, and is clearly comfortable playing in structure as well as being able to let loose and make plays in the open floor. Expect Huang to stack more and more games just like this for Blue Ridge all season long.
