Georgia’s Elite 8 Tip-Off Classic Standouts

On a roster loaded with stars, Tyler is the unsung hero for the Rams. The Piedmont-commit is a true pass-first point guard who looks to elevate those around him. With a slew of weapons to choose from, Williams keeps his probing dribble alive before dishing off for assists. Tyler doesn't need to score to positively influence games. In a 77-56 win over Pace Academy, he recorded 3 rebounds, 7 assists and 1 steal.     Donaven is instant offense. The microwave came off the bench to deliver to quick threes in the first quarter en route to 12 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block. Serving as a super sixth man, Thomas changes the momentum of games when inserted. He's a true three-level scorer who finds points off the catch and off the bounce. D-II programs should be familiar with his game.     Although he didn't make a field goal, Malik contributed 7-9 free throws, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals. He threw an alley-oop off the backboard to MJ Curry in transition. Rideout's ability to draw fouls and cash in at the line helped the Rams pull away from the Knights.     Craft hit a growth spurt over the summer, now legitimately at least 6-foot-2. The wiry guard scored in spurts for the Knights. He found hoops via a floater, two pull-ups, two threes and 2-2 shooting from the line. Craft went for 14 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists and 3 steals. His development is on track.     The physical swingman capable of playing inside and out compiled 7 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals. Gavin used his strength to score on an And-1 post up. He also hit a mid-range jumper and finished with his left hand on a reverse on the low block. Gavin is a prospect teeming with ability on the verge of breaking out soon.     Now that playing time is more readily available, I think Dickert will start popping up on college radars. The 6-foot-6 shooter is a very good floor spacer, especially from the corners. He nailed three threes off the bench to finish with 9 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist. Dickert showed over the summer that he is more than just a shooter. He had explosive games off the dribble and as an offensive rebounding threat.     Asa warmed up as the game went on against Dutchtown finishing with 11 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks. Montgomery passes the eye-test. He has a college-ready body with great athleticism and strength. Asa gets great elevation on his jump shot, effortlessly rising up to shoot over contests. Improving his shot selection will help him be more efficient as he forced some tough shots in the first half before settling into the flow of the game. Asa can knock down pull-up jumpers, threes and is a threat for backdoor lobs. Montgomery has one of the highest ceilings in his class. High Major programs got involved this offseason.     Ard had a tremendous flurry in the second quarter, coming off the bench to provide 9 quick points to pair with 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block. The long-armed forward scored on two putbacks, an And-1 in transition and a three-pointer. Christian's combo-forward skill set should draw small school's attention at the next level.     In what was shaping out to be a quiet game, Bobby came to life in the fourth quarter scoring eight of his 12 points including the game-winning free throws with 4.4 seconds left to lift Dutchtown past Hillgrove 72-71. Buggs started attacking the rim with his quick-twitch shiftiness. He scored with both hands, showcased a floater and was able to get to his spots in the mid-range.     The third quarter belonged to Isaiah as he broke free for three quick threes. The lanky guard is a stock riser heading into Year 2 due to his shot making ability along the perimeter. Dorsainvil finished with 9 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Expect his game to continue to expand over the next three seasons.     Deven came up huge for Dutchtown. The energy he brought led to key plays late as Moultrie racked up 5 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 steals and 1 block. He had a late putback to help Dutchtown keep pace. Listed at 6-foot, Deven wasn't afraid to fly around and make plays. The ultimate glue guy, Moultrie did whatever it took to win, no matter how small the task.
