If you need a guard with explosive quickness who can manufacture his own offense, he fits that role perfectly. His style of play is relentless and physical, bringing a high level of intensity every time he steps on the floor. He’s comfortable creating shots for himself, controls the ball well with a sharp handle, and uses his burst to get past defenders. As a natural athlete, he thrives in a fast-paced system and is dangerous in the open court. He also has the bounce to elevate and finish over the rim.

Buggs has been a known name for years and continues to attract attention across all levels — Division I, Division II, Division III and the JUCO ranks. The athleticism jumps off the page immediately. He has true end-to-end speed with the ball in his hands and is at his best when he’s pushing tempo. Buggs collapses defenses in transition, capable of finishing with either hand or dropping off passes to trailing teammates. When he turns the corner in the half court, he becomes extremely difficult to contain. He elevates quickly, plays above the rim, and absorbs contact without losing balance. Defensively, he brings value as well. His lateral quickness allows him to slide and stay in front of opposing guards, and his competitiveness shows up on that end. As his decision-making continues to tighten and the jumper becomes more consistent, Buggs has the physical tools and explosiveness that translate upward. Programs looking for a guard who can inject pace and athletic juice into a lineup should be paying attention.

Attacking guard has great speed in the open floor. Shows touch when dropping in floaters over shot blockers. Can kiss it off the glass from tough angles. Opened up his scoring against Greenforest with a three. The constant pressure he put on the defense with his off the dribble game resulted in scoring opportunities for the Dawgs.

Buggs has heard from schools of all levels over the course of his career, ranging from D-I programs to D-III with JUCOs sprinkled in between. Bobby is a great athlete. He has high-end speed with the ball, able to push the length of the floor as both a scorer and facilitator. Buggs is lethal when he turns corners as he can blow by and elevate to finish with both hands. I like Bobby’s perimeter defense as well, able to move laterally to keep the opposition in front.

The Dutchtown senior is wired to score and while he was quiet in the first half, Buggs got going in the second half and led the Bulldogs with 18 points on the night. Buggs has high level quickness and athleticism and is capable of creating his own offense off the bounce. It’s not surprising that Buggs scored his 1,000th point back in late November

In what was shaping out to be a quiet game, Bobby came to life in the fourth quarter scoring eight of his 12 points including the game-winning free throws with 4.4 seconds left to lift Dutchtown past Hillgrove 72-71. Buggs started attacking the rim with his quick-twitch shiftiness. He scored with both hands, showcased a floater and was able to get to his spots in the mid-range.

has been on our radar for a while now, first garnering attention as a freshman at Heritage before helping Eagles Landing reach the state championship as a sophomore. Still, he’s managed to showcase improvements in his game and up his stock this spring. Buggs is a skilled and heady guard prospect with some flashy passing ability. He shoots the three-ball with accuracy and range, also able to get to the second and third levels using his crafty handle and change of speeds. Buggs looks to be in for a big summer with AE5 after a strong month of April.

Heritage-Conyers loses a bright young prospect that starred for the Patriots in Year 1, starting every game. Buggs averaged 13.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2.4 steals while picking up 2.9 deflections per contest. Bobby is the latest cog in the Eagle’s Landing machine which continues to accumulate college-level guards.
