[player_tooltip player_id='2698089' first='Karson' last='Paye'], 6'2" senior guard, returns as the team's top scorer and assist leader. Paye's ability to handle the ball, create for others, and knock down shots from deep makes him the clear focal point of the Quarriers' offense. [player_tooltip player_id='2250327' first='Lincoln' last='Anderson'], a 6'1" junior guard, complements him perfectly. Known for his quick release and ability to score in bunches, Anderson gives Dell Rapids a multi-level scoring threat that can change the flow of a game in seconds.

On the defensive end, the Quarriers are anchored by [player_tooltip player_id='2698173' first='Jackson' last='Peppel'], a relentless perimeter defender who thrives on challenging opponents, and Carson Maeschen, the ultimate team player whose hustle, leadership, and communication set the tone on both ends of the floor. Inside, [player_tooltip player_id='3043194' first='Beckett' last='Nelson'] and Jace Brende bring size, athleticism, and toughness, providing Dell Rapids with the physical presence it will need to battle in the paint and on the boards.

Cadwell emphasizes that effort and intensity will be the team's hallmarks. “We'll play as fast and as hard as we can, with multiple efforts every possession,” he said. The Quarriers aim to defend smart, limit fouls, and make opponents work for every point while rebounding aggressively on both ends.

Depth and development will be key this season. Juniors [player_tooltip player_id='2757047' first='Kaden' last='Smith'], Andrew Buresh, and [player_tooltip player_id='3043196' first='Straton' last='Toennis'] are expected to see increased roles, providing scoring, versatility, and shooting from the perimeter. With experience across the roster and a productive offseason of team camps and workouts, Dell Rapids looks ready to hit the ground running.

The Quarriers will need to navigate a tough Region 3 slate, which features powerhouses like Winner/Colome, Baltic, Madison, and Flandreau. Each game will be a test, but the combination of veteran leadership, skilled guards, and a physical frontcourt gives Dell Rapids a chance to compete with anyone in the region.

Offensively, the Quarriers will rely heavily on ball movement and spacing. Coach Cadwell is emphasizing that “everyone has a role, and every possession matters.” If the team executes, Paye and Anderson can create scoring opportunities not just for themselves, but for their teammates, keeping defenses honest and opening lanes for the forwards and shooters.

Rebounding will be a priority, and Nelson, Brende, and Maeschen are expected to lead the charge. Their ability to control the glass and push the tempo will be critical to Dell Rapids' transition game and overall success this season.

With a mix of proven scorers, defensive specialists, and emerging talent, the Quarriers are positioned to make a statement in Region 3. Their focus on effort, execution, and team-first basketball could see them making a deeper run in the postseason than ever before. “Our goal is to keep improving every day and be playing our best basketball when it counts,” Cadwell said.

Dell Rapids may have lost a chunk of last year's scoring, but the talent, depth, and leadership returning give the Quarriers all the tools they need to compete for a top spot in one of South Dakota's toughest Class A regions.
