The 2025 season just got going. And good news has risen since the start of the season.

Here are some tidbits from the early hours of the 2025 season:

White House-Heritage senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='2139567' first='Avery' last='Coles'] reached 1,000 points in his team's win over Greenbrier. Coles is a 7-foot-0 big with superb footwork and a nice touch around the rim. He also has the capability to make shots from the perimeter. Coles is an underrated passer. He has good court vision and is one of the best available prospects on the board in the 2026 class.

Beech High School's senior wing [player_tooltip player_id='2869668' first='Cole' last='Winters'] will be taking an official visit to Johnson University on Dec. 13. The 6-3 wing currently holds offers from Welch, Crown, Saint Mary's University, and others. Winters is an efficient scorer, high energy and high effort prospect that's going to give it his all on every possession.

Brentwood High School's [player_tooltip player_id='1923548' first='Jackson' last='McCutcheon'] picked up his first offer from Bryan College on Wednesday. The Bruins opened up the season with a home win over last season's Division 1 Class 3A state champion Upperman by the final score of 62-59. McCutcheon scored 12 points in the win.

Huge impact

Houston added great size in senior big man [player_tooltip player_id='2043374' first='Kaleb' last='Davis']. He's a 6-10 center that's going to dominant the boards and alter shots near the rim. His points are going to come easy thanks to junior point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2101889' first='Justin' last='Frison'] and junior wing [player_tooltip player_id='2111892' first='Jordan' last='Myles'] getting a lot of attention from opposing teams. Frison is going to feed him in the post and in transition. Davis should be a double-digit scorer for the Mustangs. He should also be a double-digit rebounder. Davis has a chance to be an impactful player for Houston. He's the key to the Mustangs' chances of winning the Class 4A District 15 Tournament for the second-consecutive season and making a deep postseason run. His impact must be felt on a nightly basis.

Just a thought

Class 4A District 15 will have a lot of size this upcoming season. Bartlett will have size in the frontcourt with senior forwards [player_tooltip player_id='2083148' first='Axton' last='Perry'] and Ethan Gatewood and on the perimeter with junior shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='2291122' first='Dylan' last='Jones'] and sophomore forward [player_tooltip player_id='2194617' first='DJ' last='Okoth']. Houston will have Davis and Myles. Collierville will have junior forward [player_tooltip player_id='2781134' first='Christian' last='Coleman'], who's coming off a 21-point performance at home against Southwind. All of these prospects will be important to their teams' success, but one thing is for certain: This district will not lack size and athleticism.
